Arrancada do Flamengo em 2019
O mais recente, e mais fresco na memória das torcidas, foi pela própria Libertadores em 2019. Só que pelas quartas de final. Assim como ocorrerá neste ano, o primeiro jogo será no Rio. Na ocasião, o rubro-negro aproveitou o fator casa e venceu por 2 a 0 no Maracanã. No Beira-Rio, classificou-se com após empate em 1 a 1.

Andrézinho decide para o Inter em 2009
Dez anos antes, porém, foram os colorados que riram por último. As duas equipes se enfrentaram pelas quartas da Copa do Brasil de 2009. A ordem dos mandos foi a mesma. No Rio, o Inter segurou um 0 a 0 no Maracanã. Uma semana depois, venceu por 2 a 1 em casa e seguiu em frente na competição.

A vitória gaúcha veio de forma emocionante. Aos 44 do segundo tempo, as duas equipes empatavam em 1 a 1 (resultado que classificava os rubro-negros pelo critério do gol fora de casa) até que Andrézinho, ex-Flamengo, acertou um belo gol de falta para a alegria da torcida colorada.
O Inter avançou até a final daquela edição da Copa do Brasil. Mas acabou derrotado para o Corinthians, de Ronaldo Fenômeno, na grande decisão.
