Que jogo é esse: Pequeno manual do que dizer em entrevistas após sofrer goleadas

Em sua autobiografia, o tenista campeão de Grand Slams André Agassi confessa que, depois de grandes jogos, dava entrevistas ainda em quadra sem lembrar direito do que tinha acabado de falar. Era tanta adrenalina que o piloto automático assumia. E olha que, no caso do americano, a maioria desses jogos era de mais sets vencidos do que perdidos. Imaginem, então, como é sentar diante de dezenas de microfones, câmeras e celulares logo depois de ver o próprio trabalho ser destroçado em campo por uma goleada humilhante.

A newsletter de hoje resolveu se debruçar sobre isso. Fizemos a escuta atenta das entrevistas coletivas após quatro das cinco maiores goleadas do Brasileirão até agora, acompanhando o que disseram os técnicos derrotados imediatamente após os massacres. Só não entrou na conta o Santos 0 x 6 Vasco porque, coitado, Cléber Xavier não teve nem chance de enfrentar os repórteres: foi demitido antes mesmo da coletiva.

Eis aqui o resultado: uma espécie de manual involuntário de sobrevivência verbal para técnicos depois da tempestade. Se algum dia você for goleado por 8 a 0 (como foi Fábio Carille, pelo Vitória, contra o Flamengo na última segunda-feira) em qualquer área da vida, seja no futebol, seja numa reunião de trabalho, pode seguir os passos.

Os quatro tons da derrota

O roteiro básico se repete como se fosse um texto decorado: começa com o pedido de desculpas, passa pela tentativa de “virar a página”, inclui uma fatia de responsabilidade pessoal e, claro, vem sempre acompanhado de uma explicação tática, para não parecer que tudo se resume ao colapso emocional. Mas cada técnico tempera o prato amargo de um jeito.

O português Renato Paiva, ao ver o Fortaleza levar 5 a 0 do Botafogo, seu ex-time, soou como professor de gestão de pessoas.

– O jogo já fechou. Não dá para alterar. Aguentem agora a pancada. É dura, tem famílias em casa, tem amigos, tem filhos. (…) Dorme e amanhã às 17h da tarde quero caras de ambição, caras de inconformismo.

O recado não era só tático, era de saúde mental coletiva. Para ele, o segredo era colocar o vexame numa gaveta e evitar que contaminasse o jogo seguinte. E sempre com coerência:

– Eu não posso chegar ali e pedir aos jogadores calma e eu estar aos gritos mesmo maluco.

Fábio Carille, por sua vez, viveu no Vitória a goleada mais pesada do campeonato até aqui: 8 a 0 para o Flamengo no Maracanã. O tom foi de confissão pública, quase religioso.

– Antes de começar, quero pedir desculpas em nome de todo o grupo. Noite horrível, vergonhosa, onde todos nós perdemos. Temos que ter vergonha na cara, perdemos feio. A pior derrota da minha vida. Meu nono ano como técnico. Vergonhoso, não acho muitas palavras.

O discurso ganhou até ares de despedida, com ele deixando o futuro em aberto:

– O que Fábio Mota (diretor) decidir eu respeito. O que ele decidir está decidido.

Era a fala de um treinador não apenas derrotado, mas que parecia disposto a aceitar qualquer veredito. Ele foi demitido logo após a entrevista.

Já Fábio Matias, no comando do Juventude no 0 a 6 também diante do Flamengo, escolheu o pragmatismo frio.

– Foi um jogo péssimo. (…) Você não pode num jogo desse nível contra o Flamengo tomar três gols em 10 minutos, e dois de bola parada. (…) Perder para o Flamengo, tudo bem. Flamengo e Botafogo estão num patamar acima, mas a forma como foi nos incomoda muito. A responsabilidade maior é minha.

Nada de verborragia sobre vergonha ou pancadas emocionais: ele tratou a derrota como se fosse um relatório de produtividade, comparando desempenhos dentro e fora de casa, e até tentando contextualizar.

Juan Pablo Vojvoda, do Fortaleza, no outro 0 a 5 diante do Flamengo, misturou resignação com irritação.

– É trabalhar, fechar a boca e aceitar as críticas – disse. Foi duro consigo e com os jogadores:

– Responsáveis somos nós, não há que procurar respostas fora. (…) Eu aceito as críticas, me chateio com as críticas muitas vezes.

A irritação se revelou na forma como ecoava as críticas que ouvia: “O professor é burro”, “como vai escalar…”. Ao mesmo tempo, insistia em não dividir culpas com fatores externos:

– Não estamos rendendo como se espera que renda o time que temos.

No fim, temos quatro tons diferentes de derrota: o professor (Paiva), único que ainda se mantém no cargo, o confessor (Carille), demitido logo após a entrevista, o gestor pragmático (Matias) e o resignado irritado (Vojvoda), que perderam o emprego rodadas depois.

Palavras que ecoam

Apesar das diferenças de estilo, o vocabulário parece sair de um mesmo caderno. “Aguentem agora a pancada” (Paiva) conversa com “noite horrível, vergonhosa” (Carille), que lembra “foi um jogo péssimo” (Matias) e desemboca no “fechar a boca e aceitar as críticas” (Vojvoda). São formas diferentes de reconhecer que o jogo virou um naufrágio.

Outra recorrência: todos tentam virar a página rapidamente. Paiva manda “colocar na gaveta”, Matias garante que “não dá tempo de lamentar, temos jogo decisivo”, Carille repete que “amanhã é outro dia”. No meio da dor, há sempre uma tentativa de controle narrativo: não deixar que a goleada vire novela.

E há a liturgia da responsabilidade. Matias escolhe “a responsabilidade maior é minha”. Vojvoda repete que “responsáveis somos nós”. Carille admite “sei que tenho muitos problemas e tenho que resolver”. Mesmo quando o dedo aponta discretamente para a má execução dos jogadores, a mão volta para o peito do técnico.

Outro ponto curioso é a fixação com os minutos iniciais. Carille lamenta que “com quatro minutos estava 2 a 0”. Matias sublinha que “três gols em dez minutos” mudaram tudo. Para eles, a goleada se decide em lapsos curtos, quase acidentes, mesmo que depois se arraste por 90 minutos. O jogo pode ser longo, mas o trauma parece sempre nascer no primeiro quarto de hora, à la 7 a 1.

No fim das contas, os técnicos pós-goleada falam exatamente como Agassi descreveu sobre si mesmo: respondem no piloto automático. A diferença é que, em vez de tentar explicar uma vitória épica, eles precisam justificar o que muitos pensam se tratar de um vexame histórico. E, de tanto repetirem fórmulas, acabaram escrevendo sem perceber um manual do que dizer em entrevistas após sofrer goleadas.

Se algum dia você se ver na situação, saiba que basta pedir desculpa, prometer virar a página, assumir responsabilidade, inventar uma explicação tática, e torcer para que ninguém pergunte como é que foi tomar três gols em dez minutos. E esperar a demissão.

O Brasileirão de 2025 está mexendo bastante no ranking histórico das supergoleadas — aquelas de seis gols de diferença ou mais, considerando todos os torneios unificados desde 1937. Eram 90 até o fim de julho, agora já são 93.

Com o 6 a 0 no Santos, o Vasco ultrapassou o Palmeiras e se isolou como o maior “supergoleador” da história, com 10 partidas. O Flamengo, com os atropelos sobre Juventude (6 a 0) e Vitória (8 a 0), saltou do quinto lugar (onde estava em ótima companhia com o Guarani) para a terceira posição isolada. Nada mal para quem já tem a fama de gostar de placares elásticos.
