History can be made when the 2025 PGA Championship gets underway on Thursday at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte. Jordan Spieth can become just the seventh player to complete the career major Grand Slam. Spieth won the Masters and U.S. Open in 2015, and won the Open Championship in 2017. His best finish at the PGA Championship came in 2015, when he finished in sole possession of second place. Spieth is the No. 46 player in the Official World Golf Ranking, but is 40-1 in the latest 2025 PGA Championship odds. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are +500 PGA Championship favorites.

Should you back Spieth when making 2025 PGA Championship picks and golf bets? Before locking in any 2025 PGA Championship picks of your own, or entering any 2025 PGA Championship DFS picks and prop bets on sites like FanDuel, DraftKings, and PrizePicks, be sure to see the early golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up nearly $9,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 14 majors entering the weekend, including the 2025 Masters (its fourth Masters in a row) and last year’s PGA Championship and U.S. Open. Anyone who has followed its sports betting picks could have seen massive returns on betting apps like FanDuelDraftKings and Fanatics.

Now that the 2025 PGA Championship field is taking shape and fans are figuring out how to bet the PGA Championship, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard and check out the latest PGA Championship betting apps.

2025 PGA Championship predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the PGA Championship 2025: Xander Schauffele, the defending champion and a two-time major winner, stumbles and barely cracks the top 10. Schauffele has racked up nine career wins on the PGA Tour and has made the cut in 62 consecutive tournaments the longest such streak since Tiger Woods’ historic run (142 straight) from 1998 to 2005.

However, Schauffele has recorded just one top-10 finish this season after dealing with rib injury earlier in the year. The 31-year-old has struggled mightily with a putter in his hands, ranking 142nd in putting average (1.772), 156th in one-putt percentage (38.19%) and 161st in strokes gained: putting (-0.475). He’s also been ineffective off the tee, ranking 148th in total driving (228) and 162nd in strokes gained: off the tee (-0.439). He’s not a strong pick to win it all, and there are far better values in the 2025 PGA Championship field.

Another surprise: Collin Morikawa, a 21-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. Morikawa is no stranger to major success, with two major titles to his name, including the 2020 PGA Championship.

Morikawa has already recorded seven top-five finishes in just 21 major championship appearances, including a T4 at the 2024 PGA Championship. The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the premier ball-strikers on the PGA Tour and his current metrics back that up. Morikawa currently ranks third on the PGA Tour in strokes gained on approach shots (1.090), total strokes gained (1.670), and strokes gained: tee-to-green (1.624). See who else to pick here

How to make 2025 PGA Championship picks

The model is also targeting three other golfers with odds longer than 20-1 who will make a strong run at the title. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model’s picks here.

Who will win the 2025 PGA Championship, and which longshots will stun the golfing world? Check out the 2025 PGA Championship odds below and then visit SportsLine to see the projected leaderboard, all from the model that’s nailed 14 golf majors, including the last four Masters and three majors in 2024.

ACC coaches mulling addition of six NFL-style OTAs to occur during late spring, early summer

Getty Images AMELIA ISLAND, FL. — Coaches were presented a proposal for an NFL-style spring calendar during ACC meetings on Tuesday, sources confirmed to CBS Sports.. The proposal includes the addition of six official team activities (OTAs) to be conducted in the spring or early summer months, with padless practices occurring as late as June. NFL-style OTAs were also a hot topic in January at the American Football Coaches Association's annual convention as schools looked for alternatives to spring games. The new proposal would provide teams 21 total days of on-field activities in the spring and early summer, with 15 traditional spring practices. Programs would have the flexibility to use those 21 allotted days across five weeks early in the spring semester or when summer classes begin in May. The proposal comes just days before the expected final court settlement in the House […]

Jayson Tatum’s comeback will be aided by knowing everyone is rallying around him

BOSTON — It’s not likely you’ve ever run into Jayson Tatum at the dry cleaner’s or your neighborhood Market Basket, and I doubt you’ve ever squeezed into the seat next to the Boston Celtics superstar during that long Green Line commute from Newton Highlands to North Station. But from the moment he crashed to the floor at Madison Square Garden on Monday night after rupturing his right Achilles tendon, writhing in pain as he grabbed hold of his leg, it was as though basketball player Jayson Tatum became citizen Jayson Tatum.AdvertisementLeastways, that’s the impression one might get by taking a twirl through social media, or listening to any of the sports talk shows or, heck, just stepping outside and chatting up the first sports-minded acquaintance you run into on the street. To be sure, the talking points generally center on what the […]

‘Cooper’s just unique’: Coach K has high hopes for Flagg’s NBA future

On Tuesday's edition of "The Herd," former Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski described what he loves about Flagg."Cooper's just unique," Krzyzewski said. "He's so strong. His legs are so strong. Athletically, he's gifted. When you add his athletic ability and his competitive attitude, you have a very special guy. He can really score the ball.
