According to a video posted by defensive tackle Tawfiq Thomas, several teammates were seen opening Apple Watches last week-gifts that came from Shilo Sanders.
The player signed a three-year, $2.9 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so if he indeed bought watches for the entire team, it represents a significant portion of his rookie NFL salary, which exceeds $840,000 in his first season. Regardless of the cost, it’s a generous gesture that will boost publicity for the Colorado football program, led by his father Coach Prime. There’s no doubt that college football at Colorado is a true family affair for the Sanders.
Recently, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles spoke about Shilo Sanders’ performance in OTAs, suggesting he could have a chance to prove himself at the highest level of the NFL.
“I think he’s a good football player. He’s a heck of a tackler and he knows the game very well; he can see the game very well. So giving him a chance to play, we think he has a shot to help us from a safety standpoint and from a special teams standpoint… I saw him tackle all year. I saw him make plays. He’s a very smart player and he understands the game very well. So we thought it was worth a shot to see what he can do. And I think he’ll show himself well,” Bowles said on SiriusXM NFL Radio.
