However, the curtain has now closed for Latavius Murray, who announced his retirement from the NFLafter 11 seasons at the highest level.
The 35-year-old running back began his NFL journey after being selected in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. Since then, he enjoyed a memorable run in the league, playing for several teams. His final two seasons were spent with the Buffalo Bills, a franchise that will hold a special place in Murray’s heart as the last stop in his professional journey.

It’s time to close the final chapter of Latavius Murray’s NFL career. After showcasing some of his best performances over 11 seasons,the Buffalo Bills running back has officially announced his retirement through a statement on social media.
Murray shared his retirement message on Instagram, posting a video montage featuring highlights from his career and showcasing memorable moments with each of the six teams he played for. He accompanied the video with a short but heartfelt caption: “They never saw a pro in me, but 11 years later, I showed what a pro really looks like! “
The video quickly gained widespread attention, drawing farewell messages and praise from fans as well as several of the teams he played for. Through the post, Murray exemplified what it truly means to be a professional, both on and off the field. His illustrious career at the highest level of the sport stands as a testament to his dedication, resilience, and impact on the game.

The truth is, Latavius Murray’s career stands out as one of the most well-rounded and consistent among NFL players. He began his journey with the Oakland Raiders, and then he went with the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, and ultimately, the Buffalo Bills. Across all six teams, Murray demonstrated courage, determination, and discipline.
It was with the Raiders that Murray showcased the peak of his performance, earning Pro Bowl honors after a standout season in 2015. During that campaign, he rushed for 1,066 yards and scored six touchdowns, solidifying his place as one of the league’s top running backs at the time.
Over his 11-year NFL career, Murray built a résumé that reflects both consistency and impact, whether as a dependable depth option or a key contributor. He recorded over 6,500 rushing yards and scored 59 total touchdowns, impressive marks that solidify his legacy as a successful and respected player in the league.
For now, the Buffalo Bills are preparing a new season, one that will not count with Latavius Murray, but they will fight to achieve the best results. Their season will start with a strong clash against the Baltimore Ravens next September 7.
