What adds intrigue to the fight is the mounting speculation about Canelo Alvarez’s preparation. According to boxer Dominique Crowder, who spoke with Fight Hype, an inside source from Canelo’s camp claims the Mexican superstar has looked sluggish in training.
“Canelo’s slow on his feet. Crawford can outbox him,” Crowder claimed.
However, even with that supposed intel, Crowder cautioned against underestimating the former undisputed super middleweight champion.
“You’ve got 12 rounds. It’s like you’re a tree and he’s chopping at you-eventually, he’s going to catch up.”
Canelo has made a career out of silencing doubts. His timing, power, and ring IQ have overwhelmed faster fighters before. If he can withstand Crawford’s early tempo, it may only take one clean counter to change the fight.
