What is ‘Italian Brainrot’?

The name of this trend comes from the Anglo-Saxon meaning of the expression “brain rot”. This translates as “brain rot” or “rotten brain”. This would be the literal meaning, however, it refers to a deteriorated mental state due to the consumption of unstimulating or trivial online content.
The content created under the umbrella of this term revolves around the creation of monsters through AI with a strange and absurd appearance. These monsters, their appearance and their names are not coherent or have a concrete meaning. We can see that there are monsters such as Tung Tung Tung Sahur (a wooden bat carrying another wooden bat) or Tralalero Tralara (a shark with three legs and sneakers). According to various experts, this trend should not be taken lightly. One of the immediate consequences we can perceive is a decrease in attention and concentration. This is due to the compulsive consumption of short and distracted content that envelops you in an addiction to this type of video. This also means that it can affect your memory and you may start to perceive that you have problems remembering things.Mental fatigue is another consequence that we may begin to notice after consuming this content in excess. Processing information like this, compulsively and senselessly, can affect the ability to think clearly and make decisions in the medium term
In addition, clinical psychologist Carlos Hidalgo argues that consuming this content can affect the structure of the brain, leading to loneliness and a passive attitude in the learning process.
