Třiatřicetiletý Kanaďan Blain odehrál na východě Čech pět sezon, během kterých nastoupil do 231 zápasů s bilancí 32 gólů a 91 asistencí. V aktuálním ročníku ale stihl vinou zdravotních problémů jen devět startů. Blain měl smlouvu i pro příští sezonu, po vzájemné dohodě byla ale ukončena.

„Rozhodování o jeho setrvání bylo velmi složité, ale nakonec bylo doporučení trenérů jednoznačné, a to zejména s přihlédnutím k další, velmi náročné sezoně. Jérémie patřil mezi nejlepší obránce, kteří u nás působili, a je, stejně jako další uvedení hráči, velmi silně podepsán pod všemi úspěchy, kterých jsme za dobu jeho působení dosáhli,“ řekl Kmoníček.
Freibergs a Šťastný končí v Hradci Králové po dvou letech, Američan Dmowski po roce. Všichni patřili do základního kádru týmu, který obsadil druhé místo v základní části a v play off postoupil do semifinále.
V hradecké organizaci nebudou v příští sezoně hrát ani obránce Matěj Pinkas a útočníci Kryštof Lang s Matějem Chalupou, kteří ale hráli hlavně v první lize. Šestadvacetiletý Chalupa měl během play off pozitivní dopingový test, kontrolou neprošel 7. dubna po třetím semifinálovém utkání na ledě Pardubic.
