While the debate over Shedeur Sanders‘ experience in the NFL Draft continues, the discussion or projection has emerged regarding which of the quarterbacks currently with the Cleveland Browns will be the starter once the NFL season begins.

As is customary, the betting world has already established odds to predict whether Shedeur Sanders will be the one chosen by Kevin Stefanski to take the first snap.
Shedeur Sanders is the second favorite to win the starting quarterback job
According to the betting house DraftKings, the son of Deion Sanders, who was selected at the No. 144 pick in the Draft after trading picks No. 166 and 192 to the Seattle Seahawks, is the second-best positioned to be the starter next season.
The favorite to take the first snap is Kenny Pickett, acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles, who has not hidden his desire to be the starter. His odds are -110, meaning a $100 bet would pay out $90.
Here enters Shedeur Sanders with odds of +175, which would yield $175 for every $100 wagered.
Surprisingly, others have lower odds in this regard: Dillon Gabriel (+500), veteran Joe Flacco (+1200), and Deshaun Watson (+1500).
To find out if these favorite projections are correct, we will have to wait until the start of the season, scheduled for September 4.
Shedeur Sanders was considered the second-best quarterback in the 2025 class, only behind Cam Ward, who was selected by the Tennessee Titans at the No. 1 pick. However, it seems NFL executives did not share the same view, as his draft stock plummeted until the fifth round.
In 2024, Shedeur Sanders completed 74% of his 477 passes, his personal best, for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, earning him second-team All-American honors and the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year award.
The son of an NFL legend, Shedeur Sanders was one of the most debated prospects in the entire 2025 Draft class. Doubts grew even more when, despite being considered a first-round pick, he fell to Day 3 of the Draft.
