The Miami Dolphins are still striving to be at their best to compete in 2025, after finishing last season with an 8-9 record, placing second in the AFC East and missing the playoffs.
In the recent Draft, the Dolphins reinforced their defense, selecting defensive tackle Kenneth Grant from the Michigan Wolverines with the 13th overall pick in the first round. In the fifth round, they picked cornerback Jason Marshall Jr. from the University of Michigan. However, they haven’t stopped there and continue searching for more pieces for their secondary.

The Miami Dolphins are targeting a player from the Bills
This past Saturday, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said in a press conference that they’ve been in talks with several players to add more depth to the defense. Meanwhile, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that the team has been in contact with Rasul Douglas.
Douglas was traded from the Packers to the Bills in 2023 and recorded 87 tackles, four interceptions, one sack, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 24 games with Buffalo.
The Dolphins still have several key players in the secondary, including veteran Jalen Ramsey. Despite Ramsey’s star status, the Dolphins themselves have acknowledged exploring trade options for him, which makes a move for Douglas more feasible.
The Bills strengthened their secondary in the Draft
Maxwell Hairston, a cornerback from the University of Kentucky, was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2025 Draft. He is known for his speed and playmaking instincts in the secondary, standing out as one of the most dynamic defenders in his conference.
Although he suffered a shoulder injury in 2024, Hairston showed enough talent and aggressiveness in coverage to become an important piece in Buffalo’s defense. The Bills hope he brings youth, speed, and turnover potential to their secondary.
