„Hledali jsme konstruktivního centra. Troufám si říct, že je to v extralize známá persona, je velmi dobrý na buly, hodně ofenzivní. Play off měl teď na jaře velmi dobré. Myslím, že nám někdo takový chyběl,“ uvedl sportovní šéf Bruslařů Tomáš Vlasák.
Gríger je ceněný pro svoji univerzálnost, vedle centra zvládá zastat pozici pravého křídla. Třicetiletý popradský rodák má s extraligou dlouhodobé zkušenosti. Na západ Čech přišel už v roce 2013, v sezoně 2015/16 si připsal první starty v domácí nejvyšší soutěži.

Barvy Energie hájil od té doby s výjimkou dvou ročníků strávených v Liberci mezi lety 2020 až 2022. V české extralize má člen širšího kádru slovenské reprezentace na kontě 443 startů a 268 bodů za 132 gólů a 136 asistencí.
V uplynulé sezoně zaznamenal 30 bodů (16+14) v 49 zápasech základní části a byl druhým nejlepším střelcem karlovarského mužstva. Za 11 startů ve vyřazovacích bojích přidal čtyři branky a dvě nahrávky.
„Jednání s Boleslaví byla rychlá a korektní. Cítil jsem ze strany Bolky velký zájem, za který jsem vděčný, takže vlastně ani nebylo o čem přemýšlet. Jsem rád, že jsem tady, beru to jako novou výzvu,“ pochvaloval si Gríger.
