Parece que vamos ter mais episódios da ‘novela’ protagonizada pelo Sporting e por Fotis Ioannidis. Depois de terem demonstrado interesse e feito propostas ao Panathinaikos pelo ponta de lança no último verão, os leões podem voltar à carga na reabertura do mercado de transferências. A possibilidade foi avançada pela ‘Sport TV’, que revelou que o internacional grego poderia ser contratado por uma quantia na ordem dos 15 milhões de euros, um valor mais baixo do que aquele que chegou a ser pedido há quase um ano, quando o Panathinaikos chegou a recusar ofertas – na altura, também se falava do interesse dos ingleses do Leicester City – que se aproximavam dos 30 milhões de euros.
O facto de o conjunto de Atenas já não apresentar tantas exigências na hora de vender o seu jogador, de resto, não surpreende. Afinal, em 2024/25, Ioannidis está a apresentar um rendimento bastante inferior ao da temporada transata, tal como se pode verificar na imagem disponibilizada abaixo, o que pode ter afastado alguns dos interessados, baixando, naturalmente, a sua cotação no mercado.
Mas a que se deve esta quebra na produtividade do avançado de 25 anos, que marcou apenas cinco golos na liga grega em 2024/25? “Parece que a sua cabeça não está totalmente no futebol esta época, ou pelo menos é essa a sensação que passa. Importa também referir que, embora tenham sido ligeiras, Ioannidis teve várias lesões musculares e também problemas no tendão de Aquiles. Essas lesões afastaram-no apenas por uma jornada, na maioria dos casos, mas aconteceram várias vezes ao longo da época, o que também pode explicar por que razão não conseguiu ter o ritmo que se pretendia”, explicou Nikos Sofis, Area Manager do Transfermarkt na Grécia.
“Este ano, o seu rendimento caiu significativamente por várias razões. Nunca mais foi o mesmo desde que Ivan Jovanović foi despedido do cargo de treinador principal do Panathinaikos a meio da época passada. Os dois tinham uma excelente relação, foi Jovanović quem acreditou nele pela primeira vez, em 2020/21. Mesmo quando o Ioannidis não estava no seu melhor, Jovanović apostou nele. Nesta temporada, porém, nunca conseguiu encontrar o ritmo que desejava. Perdeu grande parte do estágio de pré-época devido a lesão – creio que só regressou em agosto do ano passado, tendo marcado um golo incrível numa jogada individual logo no jogo em que voltou ao ativo. As lesões foram surgindo de forma esporádica ao longo da época, e está claramente em pior forma do que em 2023/24″, acrescentou Kostas Diakogiannis, outro especialista em futebol grego do Transfermarkt.
“As constantes mudanças de treinador no Panathinaikos também não ajudaram. Depois de Jovanović, foi contratado Fatih Terim para terminar a época de 2023/24. Já nesta temporada, começou a trabalhar com Diego Alonso, que acabou também por ser despedido a meio da época, sendo substituído por Rui Vitória. Ou seja, o Panathinaikos teve quatro treinadores nos últimos 18 meses. Os novos treinadores – especialmente Diego Alonso, com o seu estilo de jogo muito direto – não encaixaram no perfil de Ioannidis. Ele é um avançado completo, capaz de jogar dentro da área, pela sua força física, mas também fora dela, recuando para segurar a bola e criar jogo para os extremos que aparecem em zonas interiores. Com Alonso, foi muitas vezes usado como ponta de lança fixo, num jogo mais direto e de bolas longas, ficando isolado contra defesas inteiras, o que claramente não favorece o seu estilo de jogo”, prosseguiu.
Diakogiannis também se debruçou sobre o preço que o Sporting poderá ter que pagar para convencer o Panathinaikos a vender Ioannidis. “A imprensa grega especula que o valor que o Sporting teria de pagar por ele na época passada poderá, agora, chegar para contratar tanto Ioannidis como Georgios Vagiannidis [lateral direito do Panathinaikos que também interessa ao Sporting]: provavelmente, cerca de 30 milhões de euros – 20 milhões por Ioannidis e 10 milhões por Vagiannidis, por exemplo. Portanto, do ponto de vista financeiro, poderá haver uma descida nas exigências do clube. Isto é apenas especulação da minha parte, mas penso que ele pode também ter decidido que esta é a altura certa para sair da Grécia. À medida que os anos passam, essas oportunidades vão-se tornando mais escassas”, concluiu.
Agora, resta saber se o Sporting voltará mesmo à carga e se Ioannidis está preparado para dar o salto para um campeonato mais competitivo. Com o contexto atual a jogar a favor dos leões, principalmente no que ao preço do jogador diz respeito, esta poderá ser a derradeira oportunidade para fechar um negócio que já viveu vários capítulos. A reabertura do mercado promete.
