Após a saída do ídolo rubro-negro, o técnico Filipe Luís achou soluções em campo, o que faz com que dirigentes ouvidos pela reportagem tratem como “zero” a chance de o atacante voltar aos planos do clube carioca num futuro próximo. O multicampeão entre 2019 e 2024 não deixou saudades no Ninho do Urubu — só na memória do torcedor.

Com sua saída, o Flamengo tomou uma série de medidas para repor a perda. A camisa 10 foi passada para Arrascaeta. No ataque, enquanto Pedro se recuperava de lesão, Juninho foi contratado. O reforço tem apenas três gols em 2025, contra sete de Gabriel.
Mas não deu nem tempo de sentir “saudades do ex”. Desde que retornou de lesão, Pedro já balançou as redes quatro vezes em cinco jogos. Arrascaeta vive fase artilheira e soma sete gols no ano. O sistema de jogo ainda promoveu Plata, Luiz Araújo, Michael e Bruno Henrique a armas ofensivas.
Mas e o carisma? Para o público, o Flamengo perdeu um jogador carismático e polêmico. Já no CT, seu nome quase não é mencionado — nem mesmo por aqueles que jogaram com ele.
Gabriel disputou 305 partidas com a camisa rubro-negra e balançou as redes 160 vezes, sendo 16 gols em 11 finais. Também distribuiu 44 assistências. Conquistou 11 títulos, entre eles duas Libertadores e dois Campeonatos Brasileiros. Nos últimos anos, porém, caiu de rendimento e foi para o banco com os técnicos Jorge Sampaoli e Tite, entre 2023 e 2024. A renovação, que chegou a ser alinhada com a antiga diretoria, acabou descartada. O Flamengo entendeu que não valia o preço pedido.
No ano passado, entre idas e vindas, Gabigol esteve na mira de Palmeiras e Santos. Depois, do Corinthians. Foi flagrado com a camisa do clube paulista durante um churrasco em casa, o que levou ao seu afastamento pelo Fla e à perda do número 10. O ciclo começava a chegar ao fim. O canto do cisne veio na final da Copa do Brasil, com dois gols sobre o Atlético-MG.
Para encarar o Cruzeiro de Gabigol, o Flamengo terá um retorno e uma ausência. Ontem, o clube informou que Gonzalo Plata não foi relacionado. O equatoriano trata um edema ósseo no joelho direito e passa por controle de carga. Já Alex Sandro, recuperado de uma lesão na coxa esquerda e de volta aos treinos nesta semana, foi novamente relacionado e disputa posição com Ayrton Lucas.
