Die Begründung zudem: Mit Yessine Meddeb und Maximilian Horner stehen zwei weitere Linkshänder im Kader, die auf dieser Position zum Einsatz kommen. Zudem hat Trainer André Lohrbach durch die Rückkehr der Langzeitverletzten Mario Stark und Finn Wullenweber wieder mehr Wechselmöglichkeiten.

Salger spielte einst auch in der Bundesliga für Stuttgart und Melsungen und stand seit 2023 beim früheren Deutschen Meister und Europapokalsieger TVG unter Vertrag, für den er in dieser Saison 89 Treffer erzielte. Sein neuer Klub Al Duhail, viermaliger Meister, ist derzeit Tabellendritter.
