Třiatřicetiletý Grubauer se představí na MS pošesté a zopakuje si účast z loňska z Ostravy. V roce 2016 byl také členem Výběru Evropy, který na Světovém poháru v Torontu došel do finále, ale do něj Grubaeur nezasáhl. V NHL odchytal za Washington, Colorado a Seattle 370 utkání v základní části a dalších 47 duelů v play off. V roce 2021 při působení v Coloradu se dostal mezi trojici finalistů na Vezina Trophy pro nejlepšího brankáře NHL.
O devět let mladší Seider se stal v roce 2019 šestkou draftu. Za sezonu 2021/22 získal Calder Trophy pro nejlepšího nováčka v NHL. Za Detroit nasbíral za čtyři sezony 328 zápasů a 180 bodů za 29 branek a 151 asistencí. Na šampionát se vydá popáté, z roku 2023 má stříbro.
Dvaadvacetiletý Reichel byl stejně jako Grubauer na MS i loni a celkově se představí počtvrté. Syn bývalého německého reprezentanta Martina Reichela hrál na šampionátech už v letech 2021 a 2022. Chicago si jej vybralo v roce 2020 v prvním kole draftu na 17. místě a v NHL za čtyři sezony zaznamenal ve 169 duelech 54 bodů (20+34). V neděli přišel o naději zahrát si na turnaji proti svému bratranci Kristianovi, útočník Mannheimu se po Českých hrách v Brně do konečné nominace české reprezentace nedostal.
MS v hokeji 2025
88. ročník mistrovství světa v hokeji je na programu v termínu od 9. do 25. května 2025. Hostit jej bude Švédsko a Dánsko, konkrétně Stockholm a Herning.
Na farmě Utahu v Tucsonu v AHL působí obránce Maksymilian Szuber, který odehrál v NHL jeden zápas v ročníku 2023/24 za Arizonu. Zkušenosti z NHL mají i další dva hráči. Dominik Kahun z Lausanne, devětadvacetiletý rodák z Plané u Mariánských Lázní, se před čtyřmi roky vrátil do Evropy po třech letech v NHL v barvách Chicaga, Pittsburghu, Buffala a Edmontonu. Stihl 186 zápasů v základní části, 83 bodů (34+49) a dva duely v play off. Druhým je rovněž útočník Marc Michaelis z Mannheimu, jenž v sezoně 2020/21 sehrál 15 utkání za Vancouver.
Kahun a obránce Jonas Müller s útočníky Marcelem Noebelsem a Leem Pföderlem z mistrovského celku Eisbären Berlín a Yasinen Ehlizem s Patrickem Hagerem z Mnichova získali olympijské stříbro v v Pchjongčchangu 2018.
Kahun, Müller a Noebels jsou i vicemistry světa z roku 2023, kde byli vedle Seidera také Szuber, brankář Mathias Niederberger s forvardem Maximilianem Kastnerem z Mnichova, obránci Leon Hüttl s Fabiem Wagnerem z Ingolstadtu a útočníci Frederik Tiffels s Manuelem Wiedererem z Eisbären, Alexander Ehl z Düsseldorfu, Justin Schütz z Kolína nad Rýnem a Wojciech Stachowiak z Ingolstadtu.
Účast z loňska z Ostravy si zopakují vedle Grubauera a Reichela také Niederberger, Müller, Wagner, Szuber, Ehl, Ehliz, Kahun, Kastner, Pföderl, Tiffels, Michaelis, Stachowiak a bek Lukas Kälble z Mannheimu.
