The Social Security Administration (SSA) has already completed the first round of May payments, for retirees who began receiving their benefits before 1997. The next deposit is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14.
No Social Security payments will be issued on May 7, and this is not an error or a delay: it is simply part of the usual schedule followed by the SSA. The beneficiary’s date of birth and the type of assistance they receive determine when monthly deposits are made. In this case, no group has been scheduled to receive their check on that Wednesday.

The monthly amount allows beneficiaries to cover basic needs such as rent, food or health services.
Although many people already know the payment dates, not everyone is aware of how the system is organized. It is important to remember that payments are not distributed at random. The SSA establishes a clear and strict schedule for its monthly deposits, which does not vary without prior notice.

Thus, those who were expecting a deposit this week will have to be patient. The next appointment with the bank will be on Wednesday, May 14. For those who depend on this income, keeping a close eye on the official schedule can avoid unnecessary surprises.
SSA payment schedule in May
These are the days when Social Security payments will be made in May:
- May 14: if the birthday falls between the 1st and the 10th.
- May 21: if the date of birth is between the 11th and the 20th.
- May 28: if you were born between the 21st and the 31st.
In addition, the June SSI payment will also be delivered in May, on May 30, because June 1 falls on a Sunday.
If the deposit is not received on time, the SSA recommends waiting three business days. If the payment does not appear after that period, the first thing to do is to contact the corresponding bank to rule out any problems with the account.

We can start by making something very clear. The Cleveland Cavaliers wouldn't have had much of a chance in Game 2 without Donovan Mitchell. With key contributors Evan Mobley, Darius Garland and De'Andre Hunter all out Tuesday, it was left to Mitchell to pick up much of the slack. He did so capably, dropping 48 points on 15-of-30 shooting with nine assists, five rebounds, four steals and five turnovers in 36 minutes. He absorbed enough punishment to reach the free throw line for 21 attempts.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHe also delivered the Cavaliers' highlight of the playoffs so far. With all of that said, it also can't be ignored how much of a role Mitchell had in Cleveland's epic collapse, blowing a seven-point lead with a minute left to fall behind 2-0 in the Eastern Conference semifinals series.Mitchell was clearly gassed going into the final stretch, […]

Hurricanes’ shot barrage prevails vs. Capitals in Game 1: Takeaways
WASHINGTON — For the Carolina Hurricanes, the 93rd time was the charm.Carolina needed that many shot attempts to beat the Washington Capitals, 2-1, in Game 1 of their second-round Stanley Cup playoff series. In the end, it was Hurricanes defenseman Jaccob Slavin beating Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson, fittingly, on a bit of a fluky one. Carolina, given the shot disparity and the five posts it hit in regulation, had earned a bit of luck.
