Češi na loňském domácím šampionátu dokráčeli až pro zlaté medaile a ty nejvyšší ambice jistě mají i na severu Evropy. Základní skupinu odehrají v dánském Herningu, kde se nejprve v pátek 9. května utkají v repríze posledního finále se Švýcarskem.
V neděli 11. května pak znovu vyzvou Norsko a o den později i domácí reprezentaci Dánska. Po dvoudenní pauze se čeští hokejisté poprvé v samostatné historii potkají s Maďarskem. V sobotu 17. května Čechy čeká utkání s Kazachstánem.

Svou pouť základní skupinou pak česká reprezentace zakončí nejprve zápasem s Německem a v úterý 20. května proti hokejistům USA. Vyřazovací boje se rozjedou ve čtvrtek 22. května, stockholmské finále je naplánováno na neděli 25. května.
Češi budou na letošním šampionátu jedním z týmů, kterým se vyhne neoblíbený čas úvodního buly v 12:20 hodin. Čtyřikrát budou hrát v odpoledním čase (16:20), ve třech případech budou součástí večerního bloku.
