The Golden Globes will introduce a “Best Podcast” category in 2026, according to Variety. Within hours, the New Heights X account responded with a meme-style post that perfectly captured their excitement-and confidence.
With a track record that includes topping Apple’s podcast charts and nabbing sponsorship deals with brands like State Farm and Amazon, New Heights is more than a side project. It’s a full-blown media force. And the Kelces, ever the competitors, seem ready to go all-in for a trophy that doesn’t come with laces or leather.
In an episode earlier this year, Travis joked that a podcast award “might actually get me to wear a tux.” Jason, never one to miss a chance to needle his younger brother, quipped, “We’ll see if you even get invited.”
Behind the laughs is a serious shot at history. The Kelce brothers could become the first athletes to win a major entertainment award for podcasting. According to The Ringer, podcasts like SmartLess, Armchair Expert, and The Pat McAfee Show are also likely contenders-making the category highly competitive from day one.
