Santos pode levar transfer ban por dívida relativa a zagueiro Raul Baretta/ Santos FC)
Mais uma vez o Santos terá de ser ver com cobranças feitas por outros times junto à Fifa. Nesta sexta-feira (9), o Uol Esporte informa que o clube foi notificado para pagar uma dívida relativa à compra do zagueiro João Basso junto ao Arouca (Portugal).
De acordo com o portal, a dívida engloba, no total, R$ 15,9 milhões cobrados pelos português. Destes, a maior parte (R$ 12,7 milhões) vem do valores em si da aquisição do defensor. Os R$ 3.2 milhões restantes são os valores da multa com juros da dívida.
Risco de ‘transfer ban’
Na notificação da Fifa, o Peixe terá de pagar o débito em 45 dias e, em caso de não cumprimento de tal demanda, incluindo-se até a possibilidade de que os clubes entrem em acordo, o ‘transfer ban’ será aplicado ao clube, o impedindo de contratar e registrar novos atletas por três janelas de transferência. Ou até ter tal impedimento até que se pague o valor
O Santos, na informação do portal, já ‘tinha ciência’ da dívida mantida com o Arouca e ‘não estaria surpreso’ ao saber da cobrança feita pela entidade. E terá que procurar alguma alternativa para tentar evitar a punição, especialmente em vistas de tentar buscar o mercado da bola

Na negociação de João Basso, ocorrida em meados de 2023, o Santos se comprometeu a pagar 2,5 milhões de euros (R$ 13 milhões) ao Arouca pelo zagueiro, de forma parcelada. Mas apenas uma das prestações da compra, de 500 mil euros, foi paga pelos santistas
Com os valores restantes não sendo pagos, o Arouca decidiu levar a cobrança à Fifa. A entidade fez sua avaliação sobre o caso e deu ganho aos portugueses, gerando a notificação ao Peixe para o pagamento.
