The 107th edition of the PGA Championship gets underway on Thursday, May 15, when golf’s greatest players will descend upon Quail Hollow Golf Club. It’s the second major championship of the PGA Tour season, and there are plenty of storylines unfolding as we inch closer to one of golf’s most historic tournaments. With a victory at the 2025 PGA Championship, Jordan Spieth will join elite company as just the seventh player to win golf’s career Grand Slam. Despite not winning since 2022, Spieth has been playing well in recent weeks, finishing 14th or better in three of his last four starts, which includes a fourth-place showing at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
According to the latest 2025 PGA Championship odds, Spieth is a 40-1 longshot. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are the 5-1 co-favorites on the PGA odds board, followed by Bryson DeChambeau (10-1), Ludvig Aberg (12-1), Xander Schauffele (12-1) and Collin Morikawa (14-1). 2025 PGA Championship predictions
One major surprise the model is calling for at the PGA Championship 2025: Xander Schauffele, the defending champion and a two-time major winner, stumbles and barely cracks the top 10. Schauffele has racked up nine career wins on the PGA Tour and has made the cut in 62 consecutive tournaments the longest such streak since Tiger Woods’ historic run (142 straight) from 1998 to 2005.
However, Schauffele has recorded just one top-10 finish this season after dealing with rib injury earlier in the year. The 31-year-old has struggled mightily with a putter in his hands, ranking 142nd in putting average (1.772), 156th in one-putt percentage (38.19%) and 161st in strokes gained: putting (-0.475). He’s also been ineffective off the tee, ranking 148th in total driving (228) and 162nd in strokes gained: off the tee (-0.439). He’s not a strong pick to win it all, and there are far better values in the 2025 PGA Championship field.
Another surprise: Justin Thomas, a 20-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. Thomas won his first major title at the 2017 PGA Championship, which was also played at Quail Hollow. Thomas went on to win the PGA Championship again in 2022 and has now racked up 16 career victories on the PGA Tour. He finished on top of the leaderboard at the RBC Heritage in April, so he’ll enter Quail Hollow full of confidence.
The 32-year-old is ranked first in putting average (1.651), second in birdie average (4.80), fourth in strokes gained: total (1.559) and seventh in strokes gained: approach to green (0.852), making him a great value pick for your 2025 PGA Championship bets. See who else to pick here.
