Flashy running back from the national champions Ohio State Buckeyes Quinshon Judkins and Tennessee Volunteers Dylan Sampson lined up across from one another to race during a set of bag drills.

The No. 5 pick overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, defensive tackle from the Michigan Wolverines Mason Graham, received instruction from his coaches. And the two quarterbacks drafted by Cleveland, Oregon Ducks superstar Dillon Gabriel, and Colorado Buffaloes stud Shedeur Sanders.

As part of the first meeting of rookie minicamp, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told the players in the room that the standard at the organization is simple: do what you’re supposed to do, when you’re supposed to do it every time, in order to make the team.
“If you were drafted in the first round, you have not made the team yet. If you were undrafted, you have not made the team yet, it doesn’t work that way. Your second goal, once you’ve made that team, is to earn a role. No one will be given a role, it doesn’t work that way, yo will earn a role, and you’ll earn that role based off what you do in this room, in your position meeting room, in the weight room, out on the field, in this building,” Stefanski said.
The head coach for the Browns since 2020 then asked the young players to introduce themselves to the rest of the team. One by one, the newcomers told the room where they were from, what position they played and where did they go to college. Mason Graham kept is short and down to business, while Dillon Gabriel sounded confident and determined.
When it was Shedeur’s turn, though, the former Colorado superstar seemed a little bit nervous. “Shedeur Sanders, quarterback, from Dallas, Texas, Colorado,” he said, while trying to end as soon as possible with the formality. Coach Stefanski then asked the new Browns to get to know their teammates and spend the next couple of days to get better at it.

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterbacks Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders spent a portion of the individual periods in under center work and in mirror drills, as well as another portion throwing to the pass catchers. Both took reps during each portion of the practice drills.
They also ran through 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 team drills. Sanders and Gabriel took reps during each set of drills. The former Oregon Ducks superstar made a read through traffic and connected with wide receiver Gage Larvadain on a pass. The Colorado Buffaloes standout also connected with Larvadain in traffic.
Shedeur Sanders later connected with tight end Harold Fannin Jr. on a pass down the sideline, which Fannin caught and stayed in bounds. During red zone drills, Gabriel connected with Fannin who was tightly covered for a touchdown. Both quarterbacks looked good, as they fight for a spot on the final 53-man roster for the regular season.
