Die deutsche Handball-Nationalmannschaft siegt zum Abschluss der EM-Qualifikation in Stuttgart 44:26 (21:11) gegen die Türkei. Deutschland stand zuvor bereits als Gruppensieger fest. Die Türkei, die noch nie bei einem Großturnier dabei war, wurde punktlos Letzter.

Ein starker Start bis hin zum 7:0, was Julian Köster erzielte. Der Star des VfL Gummersbach war diesmal Kapitän, weil Johannes Golla geschont wurde. Auch Andreas Wolff und Franz Semper fehlten aus Gründen der Belastungssteuerung. Mit 24,4 Jahren im Schnitt war der deutsche Kader deshalb jung wie nie.

Als Doruk Pehlivan, der für Dresden in der 2. Liga spielt, das erste Tor für die Türken erzielt, sind schon 8 Minuten und 20 Sekunden gespielt. Fortan schleichen sich allerdings ein paar Fehler mehr ins deutsche Spiel ein.

[–>Und plötzlich hat Deutschland zwei Nationalspieler mehr! Bundestrainer Alfred Gislason bringt mit Aron Seesing (22) einen Debütanten, der noch in der 2. Liga spielt. Allerdings hat der Kreisläufer mit dem Bergischen HC bereits den Aufstieg geschafft und wird kommende Saison erstklassig sein. Seesing trifft gleich mal zum 17:10 (26.). Zudem kommt auch Matthes Langhoff (23, Füchse) zu seiner Deutschland-Premiere.

Locker wird der Vorsprung nach der Pause ausgebaut. Melsungens Timo Kastening, mit 29 Jahren der älteste Spieler im Kader, macht das 30:17 (41.), Langhoff sein erstes Länderspieltor zum 36:19 (47.). Rechtsaußen Kastening ist es dann vorbehalten, das 40. Tor zu erzielen. Marko Grgic (Eisenach) trifft zum Endstand.

Die EM im Januar 2026 wird in Dänemark, Schweden und Norwegen gespielt.
