Zmíněná částka podle vyšetřovatelů tvořila tajný fond, který přispěl k vítězství Německa ve volbě pořadatele MS. Soud ve Frankfurtu nad Mohanem se pochybnými transakcemi kolem světového šampionátu zabývá od loňského března. Státní zastupitelství viní svaz z toho, že se vyhnul zaplacení 2,7 milionu eur (více než 67 milionů korun) na daních.
Právní zástupce svazu Jan Olaf Leisner obvinění odmítl, soudkyně Distlerová ale jeho argumenty rychle odbyla s tím, že představil prototyp pokusu o daňové úniky. „To, co jste předložili, je pokus o daňové úniky. Tečka,“ uvedla. Soud bude pokračovat ve čtvrtek, verdikt má být vynesen 25. června.
Obžalován už není žádný ze tří původně obviněných funkcionářů. Pro bývalého šéfa německého fotbalu Thea Zwanzigera kvůli podezření z daňových úniků při organizaci MS skončil spor na konci dubna. Frankfurtský soud zastavil řízení proti devětasedmdesátiletému funkcionáři s tím, že zaplatí pokutu 10 000 eur (zhruba 250 000 korun), které půjdou na charitu.
Stejnému obvinění čelili také Wolfgang Niersbach, který Zwanzigera nahradil v čele svazu v roce 2012, a někdejší svazový sekretář Horst Schmidt. Oba se dohodli s úřady na zastavení řízení již loni a zaplatili pokuty.
Kauza se táhla od roku 2015 a zabývaly se jí soudy v Německu i ve Švýcarsku. Trojice činovníků čelila obvinění, že zmanipulovali daňová přiznání za pořádání světového šampionátu, tak aby se svaz vyhnul vysokým daním.
Podle prokuratury měli Zwanziger, Niersbach a Schmidt na daních zaplatit 13,7 milionu eur (nyní 341 milionů korun). Svaz v roce 2017 za MS, kterému se díky zisku bronzových medailí v Německu přezdívá „letní pohádka“, doplatil zpětně na daních přes 20 milionů eur.
