Was steckt dahinter? – Basketball-Boss sucht 100 Trainer

It was a gut punch to what was an embarrassing loss for the top-seeded Cavaliers. After the game, Cavs coach Kenny Atkinson had "no idea" what Mitchell's status would be for Game 5, but after undergoing an MRI on Monday where he was diagnosed with a reaggravation of an ankle injury, Mitchell is officially active and in the starting lineup for Tuesday night's matchup. That's a huge sigh of relief for Cleveland, as Mitchell has been the lone bright spot for the Cavaliers in their first three playoff games against the Pacers. Mitchell was averaging 41.3 points per game in the second round heading into Game 4. Entering Sunday, his dominance was their […]

Pete Rose reinstated off MLB’s permanently ineligible list: Mike Schmidt, former teams, others react

Getty Images On Tuesday, Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred effectively changed baseball's permanently ineligible list to a lifetime ineligible list. Manfred ruled that "permanent ineligibility ends upon the passing of the disciplined individual," and therefore Pete Rose, Shoeless Joe Jackson, other members of the 1919 Black Sox, and others have been removed from the permanently ineligible list. A total of 17 players are no longer banned from baseball."In my view, a determination must be made regarding how the phrase 'permanently ineligible' should be interpreted in light of the purposes and policies behind Rule 21, which are to: (1) protect the game from individuals who pose a risk to the integrity of the sport by prohibiting the participation of such individuals; and (2) create a deterrent effect that reduces the likelihood of future violations by others," Manfred wrote in a […]

Ranking the Hall of Fame cases of Pete Rose, ‘Shoeless’ Joe Jackson and more newly reinstated MLB players

Imagn Images Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred announced Tuesday that he has reinstated 17 dead players from the permanently ineligible list. Given that the players are not alive to celebrate the news, there's really only one reason for reinstatement: consideration for the Baseball Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame has already announced that any of the now-reinstated players would be considered by the Historical Overview Committee to possibly be placed on the Classic Baseball Era Committee ballot for December 2027. Any of these players hitting that ballot will be judged by a 16-person panel, made up of Hall of Fame members, former team executives and veteran media members/historians, and would need to get a "yes" vote from at least 12 of the 16 voters.
