When Monday Night Raw officially arrived on Netflix, the media were surprised to see that professional wrestling icon and WWE legend Hulk Hogan was greeted with unanimous boos from the audience.
Many online fans, and even current WWE Superstars, explained the reasons for the reaction, citing his backstage behavior and an infamous leaked video of the Hulkster.

Hulk Hogan sees it as a place of honor
During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Hogan spoke to the fans who were booing him and said that it is something that comes with being in “that place of honor”. “Well, you know, they’re still nipping at my heels,” Hogan said.
“I can go out and be booed. That was the last time I was in Los Angeles, I was Hollywood Hogan with a black beard and being a bad guy. I can go out and be booed in Los Angeles, can The Rock or John Cena do that?”
When I’m booed, the media reaction is totally different. For some reason, I’ve laid the groundwork for people to stay interested in what I do.
“For the guys that are on the team and they get on the train to the station, that’s great. For the guys that hate me and still have a problem with me, there’s nothing I can do to fix it, except continue to prove with my actions that I’m still in the game, that I’m still trying my hardest. I took a lot of time off because I had about 25 surgeries and I was off for a long time.
“I’ve always loved the hunt, I’ve always loved getting back into the game, but it’s always been that way with me because throughout my career, I’ve always been in the number one spot, no matter what it was, even in the 80s, I was the fastest draw.
“During the 80s, everyone was criticising me, everyone was trying to dethrone me. I would trade it for not being at the bottom of the bill, if you know what I mean, or being at the bottom of life. For me, it’s just part of the territory. It’s like, you know, when you’re booed, you get 3.2 billion interactions and you shake the whole world in Los Angeles with so much interaction on the internet, I’ll take it,” said the living legend of international wrestling.
Hulk Hogan: The combination of his personality and character
Hogan went on to comment that fans’ reactions were due to a combination of his Hollywood Hogan character and his personality, although he acknowledged the “mistakes” he made in the past.
“There are people who boo the character, there are WWE superstars who gave me their opinion and advice, but I would like to ask those same people when I go to New York or Chicago and people cheer me loudly. I would like to know what their advice and opinion is.
“It’s a double-edged sword for me, and it always has been. It’s part of my character, my persona, my professional life and my personal life. It’s all of the above.
“After all, I’m like an old scarred seal, and most normal people identify with me because a lot of people have been through the same thing I have professionally. A lot of people have made the same, not the same mistakes, but personal mistakes, and I’m still understandable to a lot of people.”
“If they boo me, fine. If they’re in front of the team, great too. I’m not criticizing anyone, brother. I’m still here. I’m still going,” he concluded.
