Vsetín zkusí vrátit do extraligy slovenský kouč

Bývalý slovenský reprezentant Babka byl poslední dvě sezony asistentem v Žilině. Týmu pomohl k návratu do extraligy.

„Na Dana Babku šly výborné reference z jeho bývalých týmů i od všech lidí, co s ním v minulosti spolupracovali. Slibujeme si od toho, že přinese nový pohled na věc, není zatížený minulostí v klubu. Styl hokeje, kterým se týmy pod jeho vedením prezentovaly, se nám líbí,“ řekl sportovní ředitel Vsetína Pavel Hanák.

V roli asistenta bude pokračovat už třetí sezonu Luboš Rob starší. „Věříme, že tato trenérská dvojice bude úspěšná a dostane Vsetín tam, kam si všichni přejeme,“ dodal Hanák.

„Vize Vsetína je trochu podobná Žilině, kde jsem prošel celým cyklem k postupu do nejvyšší soutěže. V Česku je ta cesta ještě náročnější, o to větší je výzva,“ prohlásil Babka, který během hráčské kariéry s Robem nastupoval za České Budějovice.

Vsetín hrál extraligu naposledy v roce 2007, kdy byl vyloučen kvůli dluhům.
