Am Samstag geht’s los: endlich Play-offs in der Easycredit Basketball-Bundesliga!
Chemnitz empfängt Heidelberg (17 Uhr) und Ulm trifft auf Alba (18.30 Uhr). Die Bayern starten am Abend ins Viertelfinale (20 Uhr) gegen den MBC, der Oldenburg im letzten Play-In-Spiel besiegt hat.
So eng wie in der Hauptrunde und der Abschlusstabelle wird’s auch in der Endrunde zu gehen. Ab jetzt zählt jeder Korb und jeder Rebound im Kampf um die Deutsche Meisterschaft. Wer ist Favorit, wie läuft der Modus, wie hoch sind die Prämien?

Die Play-off-Favoriten der Basketball-Bundesliga
Vorneweg ganz klar die Bayern: Sie sind Titelverteidiger, Erster der Hauptrunde, haben den mit Abstand besten Kader, die meiste Erfahrung und natürlich Weltmeister-Coach Gordon Herbert (66). Nach einer sehr starken Euroleague-Saison und dem verpatzten Pokal-Halbfinale gegen den MBC haben die Bayern Titel-Druck, wie Boss Herbert Hainer (70) klarstellte („Die Meisterschaft ist Pflicht!“).
Ratiopharm Ulm hat sich in dieser Saison als Nummer zwei etabliert und das auch in der Abschlusstabelle, in der nur ein Sieg auf die Bayern fehlte. Erfahrene Profis wie Karim Jallow (28) und Justinian Jessup (26) plus die potenziellen NBA-Talente Noa Essengue (18) und Ben Saraf (19) geben den „Orangenen“ die perfekte Mischung im Kader. Wenn ein Team die Münchener ernsthaft stressen kann, dann Ulm. Die Hürde Alba Berlin im Viertelfinale ist der Wahrsager.

Jhivvan Jackson (26/18,6 Punkte im Schnitt) wurde zum wertvollsten Spieler gewählt – obwohl er seit fast zwei Jahren durchspielt! 23/24 stieg er mit Tübingen ab, in der BBL-Sommerpause spielte er in seiner Heimat Puerto Rico bei den Osos de Manati die Saison bis zu den Finals. Danach ging es direkt in Würzburg weiter.

Der Play-off-Modus der Basketball-Bundesliga
Die Play-offs werden in im Modus „best of five“ gespielt. Bedeutet: Es braucht drei Siege für den Einzug in die nächste Runde oder im Finale für den Titel.
Die Serien werden dabei im Format 1-1-1-1-1 ausgespielt. Das in der Abschlusstabelle der Hauptrunde besser platzierte Team genießt Heimrecht, darf die Serie mit einem Heimspiel starten und drei der maximal fünf Spiele zu Hause austragen.
Das Heimrecht wechselt im Format 1-1-1-1-1 dabei nach jedem Spiel.
Vor den Play-offs steigen die Play-Ins. Bedeutet: Der Siebte der Abschlusstabelle trifft auf den Achten, der Sieger ist fix in den Play-offs. Der Verlierer spielt gegen den Sieger der Partie Neunter gegen Zehnter den letzten verbliebenen Play-off-Platz aus.
Es finden insgesamt drei Play-In-Spiele statt.

Wie sieht der Meisterpokal aus?
Die Trophäe wurde in Handarbeit aus versilbertem Messing angefertigt. Der Pokal ist 590 Millimeter hoch und 6,4 Kilogramm schwer. Die Produktionskosten lagen bei 10.000 Euro.
Die Play-off-Termine der Basketball-Bundesliga
Das Viertelfinale beginnt am Samstag, dem 17. Mai, das Halbfinale am 1. Juni und die Finalserie am 15. Juni. Der Meister soll spätestens am 26. Juni feststehen.
