Em um jogo decisivo pela Libertadores, o Flamengo venceu por 2 a 0 a LDU-EQU, nesta quinta-feira, no Maracanã. O placar foi suficiente para que a equipe brasileira chegasse aos oito pontos e entrasse na zona de classificação como segundo lugar do Grupo C — o Central Córdoba-ARG lidera com 11. Pela última rodada, o rubro-negro enfrenta, também em casa, o Deportivo Táchira-VEN, no dia 28 de maio, e só depende se si para avançar às oitavas de final.
Com um início frenético, o time de Filipe Luís abriu o placar, aos nove minutos, após o zagueiro Léo Ortiz aproveitar o escanteio cobrado por Luiz Araújo. Mesmo com o gol no começo na partida, o Flamengo seguiu dominando a LDU, que não saiu praticamente do campo de defesa no primeiro tempo.
Ciente da necessidade de balançar as redes mais uma vez para ultrapassar a equipe equatoriana na classificação, o rubro-negro não baixou o ritmo depois do intervalo. Pressionando no ataque, o lateral-esquerdo Alex Sandro fez bela jogada e cruzou para o meio da área. A defesa da LDU cortou a bola, mas mandou nos pés de Luiz Araújo, que não desperdiçou a chance, aos oito minutos da segunda etapa.
