Noch 5 Spiele bis zur Meisterschaft – Kretzschmar bekämpft Aufregung in der Sauna

Nach dem Pflichtsieg am Donnerstag-Abend zu Hause gegen den ThSV Eisenach (34:26) beginnt für die Füchse Berlin in der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga der große Endspurt um die Meisterschaft.

Gewinnen die Berliner auch in Göppingen (19.5.), gegen Melsungen (29.5.), in Stuttgart (1.6.), gegen Gummersbach (5.6.) und bei den Löwen (8.6.) ist ihnen die erste Meisterschaft in der Vereinsgeschichte nicht mehr zu nehmen. Aus der Nationalmannschafts-Pause kam die Mannschaft von Trainer Jaron Siewert (31) entspannt, die Füchse hatten gegen Eisenach keine große Mühe.

Füchse Sportvorstand Stefan Kretzschmar (52) gibt zu: „Die Anspannung steigt, jetzt gilt es den Schalter umzulegen, den Fokus auf die letzten Spiele zu legen. Die Anspannung steigt nicht nur bei der Mannschaft auch bei mir. Nervosität und Druck werden nicht weniger. Einerseits ist die Vorfreude da, andererseits merkt man, dass es jetzt um was geht.“

Dass jetzt viele Handball-Experten und Fans den Tabellenführer aus Berlin auch als Favoriten sehen, merkt auch die Füchse-Chefetage. Kretzschmar: „Vor vier Wochen haben das noch nicht alle gesagt oder gedacht. Je länger wir in der Pole-Position bleiben, hören wir jetzt immer mehr solche Sätze, die haben wir uns aber auch erarbeitet, immer mehr in der Favoritenrolle zu sein, aber wir lassen uns da nicht locken.“

Kretzschmar bekämpft Aufregung in der Sauna

Und dann gibt Kretzschmar (der als Spieler mit Magdeburg Meisterschaft und die Champions League gewonnen hat) zu: „Ich bin jetzt in dieser heißen Schlussphase alles andere als cool. Verantwortlich für die Füchse zu sein, ist alles andere als ein Alltagsjob. Da kommt man nicht jeden Tag mit unterkühlten Gefühlen zur Arbeit.“

Kretzschmar erklärt weiter: „Das geht nur mit einer extremen Emotionalität. Eine Mannschaft, einen Verein wie die Füchse Berlin erfolgreich zu machen, geht nur mit einer extremen Motivation und Mentalität. Das leben die Coaches vor, das musst du als Sportlicher Leiter vorleben und die Spieler müssen das auch mitmachen.“

Und er schiebt nach: „Die Füchse Berlin sind kein Verein, der vor 25 Jahren schon die Champions Legaue gewonnen hat und seit Jahrzehnten im Konzert der Großen mitmischt. Es ist ein Verein, deren Entwicklung auf einer Vision basiert. Und ein paar Spieler sind diesen Weg in den letzten Jahren mitgegangen und deshalb sind wir alle extrem emotionalisiert. Und ich besonders, denn der Verein ist mir ans Herz gewachsen.“

[–>Und Kretzsche schmunzelt: „Ich habe jetzt eine andere Rolle. Früher konnte ich noch was dazu beitragen auf dem Parkett, jetzt eben nicht mehr und deshalb gebe ich auch zu: Momentan fällt mir Ablenkung echt schwer.“

Kretzschmar zählt auf und lacht über sich selbst: „Ich war in der letzten Woche mit ein paar Handball-Jungs unterwegs, habe versucht, ein bisschen Golf zu spielen. Aber ich merke schon, wo mein Kopf ist und meine Gedanken sind. Ich war jetzt nicht in der geselligsten Verfassung. Das wird sich auch nicht mehr ändern. Vor Eisenach ein Entspannungsversuch in der Sauna. Das war ganz nett, aber die Anspannung wird bleiben. Das ist aber in der Situation auch okay so.“
