Dirigentes das federações estaduais do futebol brasileiro começaram a desembarcar no Rio, mais especificamente na sede da CBF, para iniciar uma espécie de “conclave” após a decisão da Justiça de afastar o presidente Ednaldo Rodrigues na última quinta-feira.
Fernando Sarney, nomeado interventor pelo Tribunal de Justiça do Rio, iniciou a tarefa nesta sexta-feira, mas outros dirigentes já bateram ponto na CBF, como Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos, de São Paulo. Outros presidentes de federações são aguardados ao longo do dia.
Com os grupos divididos entre 19 federações que se uniram e outras oito que não aderiram, os presidentes começaram o debate sobre possíveis candidatos para substituir Ednaldo Rodrigues. A tendência é que haja até três nomes na disputa.

Dezenove presidentes de federações estaduais divulgaram, nesta quinta-feira, um manifesto em defesa da “renovação do futebol brasileiro”, abrindo mão de apoiar a chapa de Ednaldo Rodrigues, e sinalizando a necessidade de um candidato único. Federações de estados como São Paulo, Bahia, Pernambuco, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Tocantins, Amapá e Mato Grosso não assinaram o documento, evidenciando a divisão.
Clubes se mobilizam
Nesse cenário, também já existe articulação entre os clubes das Séries A e B por um apoio em bloco, unindo Libra e LFU na busca por um candidato que lhes dê maior protagonismo.

No recurso ao Superior Tribunal Federal, a defesa de Ednaldo pede que, caso o pedido de nulidade da decisão proferida pelo TJ-RJ não seja acolhido, que o estatuto da CBF seja adotado.
Assim, segundo o documento, Hélio Menezes assumiria o posto, por se tratar de vice-presidente mais idoso e, neste caso, nome de continuidade indicado por Ednaldo.
O recurso será julgado no dia 28 de maio. O desembargador Gabriel de Oliveira Zéfiro, do TJ do Rio, determinou que o interventor Fernando Sarney convoque novas eleições “o mais rápido possível”.
