Im Qualifying für den Großen Preis der Emilia-Romagna kommt Yuki Tsunoda (25) in Kurve 2 von der Strecke ab, dreht sich im Kiesbett und überschlägt sich mit seinem Red Bull. Danach kracht er in die Streckenbegrenzung. Ein Horror-Crash bei über 200 km/h!

Trotzdem wird er erstmal im Strecken-Krankenhaus in Imola untersucht. Wenig später meldet sich sein Rennstall auf X (vormals Twitter) zu Wort: „Yuki wurde gecheckt und dann aus dem Medical Center entlassen – zum Glück!“.

Am Abend äußert sich dann auch Tsunoda. Zur Unfall-Ursache sagt er: „Ich bin zu sehr über den Randstein gefahren. Aber ich habe auch unnötig gepusht. Schon so früh, nach zwei Kurven, das war wirklich unnötig.“
Dann entschuldigt er sich bei seinem Team: „Ich bin über mich selbst frustriert und kann mich nur beim Team entschuldigen. Meinetwegen haben sie unnötigen Stress, vor allem die Mechaniker, die das Auto bis morgen reparieren müssen.“

Die Reparatur des RB 21 wird ein Rennen gegen die Zeit. Ob er bis zum Start (15 Uhr, RTL und Sky übertragen live, dazu Liveticker auf bild.de) einsatzbereit ist – offen.
Auch dem zweiten Crash-Piloten von Imola geht es gut. Franco Colapinto (21) verliert seinen Boliden in der Kurven-Kombination zwei und drei.

Anders als Tsunoda kommt der Alpine-Pilot allerdings nicht auf den Randstein, sondern mit seinem linken Hinterrad auf den Rasen neben der Strecke. Dort hat er keinen Grip mehr, verliert das Heck sofort und fliegt ab.
Am Abend gibt das Team des Argentiniers bekannt: „Nach seinem Unfall in Q1 wurde Franco ins Medical Center gebracht und vorsorglich durchgecheckt. Er ist ok, durfte das Center verlassen.“
