O Sporting revalidou o título de campeão nacional conquistado no ano passado, confirmando, assim, o bicampeonato que lhe fugia há 71 anos – a última vez que o clube havia vencido a Liga Portuguesa em duas ocasiões consecutivas remonta à década de 1950, com os triunfos em 1952/53 e 1953/54. Neste sábado, os leões derrotaram o Vitória SC (2-0) em Alvalade, um resultado que lhes permite fazer a festa – a equipa orientada por Rui Borges precisava de fazer igual ou melhor do que o rival Benfica nesta última jornada do campeonato para confirmar a conquista do 21.º título da sua história, o que acabou por se verificar.
Com o desfecho desta 34.ª ronda do campeonato, o emblema de Alvalade passou a somar 82 pontos, mais dois que o Benfica.
Os milhões do título verde e branco
O Sporting conquistou a edição 2024/25 da Liga Portuguesa numa temporada em que investiu um total de 59,84 milhões de euros em novos reforços. A contratação mais cara dos leões para a presente temporada foi a de Conrad Harder, ponta de lança dinamarquês que trocou o Nordsjaelland por Alvalade no último verão por 19 milhões de euros.
Por outro lado, o clube encaixou 42,3 milhões de euros com a venda de jogadores ao longo de 2024/25, sendo o maior negócio aquele que levou Issahaku Fatawu para o Leicester City, que pagou 16,25 milhões de euros pelo passe do extremo, que já se encontrava cedido ao clube inglês desde a temporada passada.
Consumadas todas as mexidas levadas a cabo no plantel ao longo da época, o Sporting vai terminar o campeonato com uma equipa avaliada em 487,5 milhões de euros. De todos os futebolistas leoninos que levantaram o título de campeão neste sábado, o mais valioso é, e por larga margem, Viktor Gyökeres, ele que tem um valor de mercado de 75 milhões de euros.
