Die Play-offs sind seine Jahreszeit. Immer wenn es zählt, liefert Kapitän Vladimir Lucic (35) beim FC Bayern Basketball ab. Der Serbe ist seit 2016 in München, holte in der Zeit in der Easycredit BBL drei BBL-Meisterschaften und vier Pokalsiege. Und ist auch privat mit seiner Familie längst heimisch geworden.
Zuletzt sah es jedoch so aus, als würden sich die Wege diesen Sommer trennen. Lucics Vertrag läuft aus. Und in serbischen Medien wurde spekuliert, er würde zum Ende seiner Karriere zu Heimatklub Partizan Belgrad zurückkehren …
Doch jetzt gibt’s offenbar die Vertrags-Wende: Laut Bayern-Insider Robert Heusel („Dyn Timeout“) wird Lucic nun doch in München bleiben – und seinen Vertrag (mit gekürzten Bezügen) verlängern.
[–>In den letzten beiden Jahren hatte Lucic zwar immer wieder mit Verletzungen längere Zeit ausgesetzt. Rechtzeitig für die Play-offs ist er aber körperlich auf der Höhe. Beim 78:60 im ersten Viertelfinale gegen den Syntainics MBC war Lucic der Spieler, mit der zweitlängsten Einsatzzeit (25:44 Minuten) nach Weltmeister Andreas Obst (28/28:31 Min.). Dazu schaffte er mit 10 Punkten und 12 Rebounds ein sogenanntes „Double-Double“. Und ging auch als Führungsspieler voran, als er sich im Schlussviertel mit Akeem Vargas (35) zur Brust nahm.
MBC: Erfolgstrainer vor dem Absprung!
Auf Abschied stehen die Zeichen dagegen beim Bayern-Gegner. Nach der überragenden Saison, die der MBC trotz Mini-Mannschafts-Etats (1,8 Mio. Euro) mit dem ersten Pokal-Sieg krönte, wird Trainer Janis Gailitis (40) kaum zu halten sein.
Lange hielten sich Gerüchte, der Lette würde in der BBL zu den EWE Baskets Oldenburg wechseln. Daraus wird aber nichts. Laut Informationen von Dyn-Moderator Michael Körner zieht es den ehrgeizigen Gailitis in die erste französische Liga zu SIG Strasbourg.
Der italienische Basketball-Journalist Luca D‘Alessandro vermeldete zudem diese Woche, dass es Scharfschütze Spencer Reaves (29) kommende Saison in die ACB zieht. Verschiedene spanische Klubs hätten Interesse.
Oldenburg holt Krunic zurück
Weil sich Gailitis und Oldenburg offenbar nicht einig wurden, setzt der einstige BBL-Top-Klub kommende Saison nun wohl auf Alt-Bewährtes. Interims-Trainer Mladen Drijencic (59) kehrt plangemäß in den Nachwuchs zurück. Sein Nachfolger wird laut Transfer-Insider Rupert Fabig („Hamburger Abendblatt“) Predrag Krunic (57). Der Serbe war von 2007 bis 2012 schon mal Oldenburg-Trainer und feierte dort 2009 sogar die Meisterschaft – der größte Erfolg der Klub-Geschichte!
Nach einem Kurz-Gastspiel beim MBC in der Saison 2023/24 arbeitete Krunic zuletzt in Japan.

Alba wildert an der Ostsee
Hinter Alba Berlin liegt eine völlig verkorkste Saison. Der elfmalige Meister kämpfte von Beginn an mit extrem vielen Verletzten und einem falsch zusammengestellten Kader. Mit einem starken Schluss-Spurt vermied Alba den Super-GAU und qualifizierte sich noch für die Play-offs.
Im Hintergrund hat Sportdirektor Himar Ojeda längst begonnen, den neuen Kader zu planen. Der muss nicht mit den Ansprüchen der Königsklasse Euroleague genügen, sondern „nur“ für die Champions League passen.
Eine Konsequenz: Aufbau-Talent Matteo Spagnolo (22) wird den Klub wohl trotz Vertrag bis 2026 verlassen. Weil der Italiener in der Jugend lange in Spanien spielte, benötigt er in der ACB keine Ausländer-Lizenz. Angeblich ist der Euroleague-Vertreter Baskonia sogar bereit, 300.000 Euro Ablöse für Spagnolo zu zahlen…
Ein potenzieller Zugang für die Albatrosse ist laut Transfer-Insider Fabig Rostocks Top-Scorer Bryce Hamilton (24/USA), der mit 16,9 Punkten pro Partie zu den besten Offensiv-Spieler der BBL zählt.
Feuerwehrmann hat keine Zeit mehr zum Löschen
Kein Gerücht, sondern offiziell bestätigt ist der neue Trainer von Absteiger BG Göttingen. Fabian Strauß (32) kommt als Nachfolger für den gefeuerten Mikko Riipinen (37/jetzt Ludwigsburg) von Zweitligist Dresden Titans und soll die Niedersachsen zurück in die Bundesliga führen. Der gebürtige Thüringer unterschrieb für zwei Jahre, allerdings mit einer Ausstiegs-Option.
Er rettete nacheinander Oldenburg, den MBC und Heidelberg vor Abstieg! Eine neue Retter-Mission wird es für BBL-Oberfeuerwehrmann Ingo Freyer (54) erstmal nicht geben. Freyer wird Sportdirektor und Trainer vomn Regionalligist BBA Hagen.
