Votroci po první půli prohrávali gólem probuzeného střelec Jana Matouška, po přestávce se tlačili za vyrovnáním. Zkraje druhého poločasu se řítil na bránu Vlkanova, před hranicí šestnáctky ho ve skluzu rozhodil Vondra. Hradecký útočník sice ještě stihl vystřelit, brankář Michal Reichl ale výborně zasáhl. Arbitr Stanislav Volek rozpažil, na jeho verdiktu se nic nezměnilo ani po zkoumání situace VAR.
Vlkanova dával jasně najevo, že ho obránce Klokanů fauloval. Stejně tak Horejš, který vyfasoval žlutou kartu. Domácí tým i ochozy si v ten moment mocně oddechly. V první chvíli totiž všichni na stadionu nabyli dojmu, že sudí běží k monitoru, prohlédnout si souboj Vondry s Vlkanovou.

Hosté poté ještě víc sešlápli plyn, Klokani odolávali díky skvělému Reichlovi. A když už byl bezmocný, zachránila ho tyč.
„Naše produktivita nebyla dobrá. Paradoxně jsme byli lepší v půli, kdy jsme dostali gól. Druhá půle byla soubojová, na konci jsme měli několik šancí. Z nich prostě musíme aspoň jednu branku vytěžit. Tohle nás trápí celou sezonu,“ povzdechl si Horejš.
Naopak podržel brankáře Adama Zadražila, kterého Matoušek nachytal z 25 metrů nikterak prudkou střelou. „Gól mu nebudu vyčítat, chytá výborně. Spíš mě mrzí, že jsme inkasovali ze situace, na kterou jsme se připravovali. A sice na nákopy Bohemky a následné sbírání odražených míčů,“ podotkl Horejš.
Prostřední skupina nadstavby se hraje pouze o umístění a nijak horentní finanční odměny pro kluby. Jak Horejš motivuje mužstvo? „Chceme mít vítěznou mentalitu. Každý zápas za Hradec musíme chtít vyhrát. Motivace je tedy jasná. Chceme prostřední skupinu vyhrát, v odvetě uděláme maximum,“ uvedl Horejš.
Dost možná už před domácí odvetou s Klokany se dočká zvučné posily pro příští sezonu. Sport.cz před několika dny jako první informoval, že bývalý reprezentační kapitán Vladimír Darida končí v řeckém Arisu a vrací se do Česka. S tím, že se upíše Hradci Králové, kde se rozhodl s rodinou natrvalo usadit. „Musíte počkat do pondělí,“ usmál se Horejš. „Možná o něco déle,“ doplnil vedle sedící tiskový mluvčí Hradce Petr Šatalík.
