Národní tým odehrál v dánském Herningu už šest utkání, z nichž vždy odcházel vítězně. Jediný bod ztratil v úvodním zápasu turnaje se Švýcary, které Češi porazili až v prodloužení. Do posledního zápasu tak vstoupí z pozice favorita a hlavního adepta na prvenství ve skupině.
V pondělí si národní tým poradil s Němci (5:0) v utkání, kde se dařilo snad všechno. Brankář Daniel Vladař si připsal první čisté konto českého brankáře na letošním turnaji, svou bodovou šňůru prodloužil David Pastrňák i Roman Červenka.
Tým byl důrazný v obraně a produktivní v útoku. Proměnil početní výhodu a Jakub Lauko se prosadil i v oslabení. Kromě Lauka se do sestavy proti Němcům vrátil i obránce Tomáš Kundrátek a oba by měli zasáhnout i do posledního skupinového mače.
Na soupisce českého výběru zůstává poslední volné místo, jež uvolnil zraněný Jáchym Kondelík. To by mohl zaplnit mistr světa z Prahy David Kämpf, jehož Toronto vypadlo z boje o Stanley Cup. Pokud projde výstupní zdravotní prohlídkou v klubu, mohl by se k národnímu týmu připojit před čtvrtfinále.
MS v hokeji 2025
88. ročník mistrovství světa v hokeji je na programu v termínu od 9. do 25. května 2025. Hostí jej Švédsko a Dánsko, konkrétně města Stockholm a Herning.
Poslednímu českému soupeři jde ale také o hodně. Američané už na turnaji dokázali, že jsou kvalitním soupeřem. Prohráli jen se Švýcarskem a jeden bod za výhru v prodloužení ztratili s Norskem. Právě v utkání s Nory a také v s Němci ale zaváhali a nechali si zdramatizovat slibně rozjetý zápas.
Stejně jako Češi, mohou i Američané skončit na prvních třech místech skupiny. Pro naději na vítězství by ale potřebovali vyhrát v základní hrací době a také pomoc od Kazachů v utkání se Švýcarskem. Naopak Čechům pro jistotu prvenství stačí vyhrát v prodloužení.
