The 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge is set to get underway on Thursday, May 22, and several players will enter this week’s event confident they can secure the victory. Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1-ranked player in the world, has finished on top of the leaderboard in each of his last two starts. He’s coming off a victory at last week’s PGA Championship, claiming his third major title. He’s finished T-8 or better in five consecutive starts, and he secured a T-2 finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge in 2024. Davis Riley enters this week’s event as the defending champion and is coming off a T-2 finish at the PGA Championship.

According to the latest 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge odds, Riley is a 50-1 longshot to repeat. Scheffler is going off as the +250 favorite (risk $100 to win $250), followed by Jordan Spieth (22-1), Hideki Matsuyama (25-1), Daniel Berger (25-1) and Tommy Fleetwood (25-1) on the PGA odds board. Before locking in your 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine. You can also get 2025 U.S. Open picks for golf’s next major and Charles Schwab Challenge parlay picks.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up nearly $9,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 15 majors entering the weekend, including the 2025 Masters – its fourth Masters in a row – and the 2025 PGA Championship. Anyone who has followed its sports betting picks could have seen massive returns on betting sites. Now that the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge field is locked in, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard. You can also get 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge picks from SportsLine golf expert Eric Cohen

2025 Charles Schwab Challenge predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge: Jordan Speith, a 13-time PGA Tour champion and three-time major winner, stumbles this week and barely cracks the top 10. Spieth is one of the most decorated players on the PGA Tour, but his last victory on tour came at the RBC Heritage in 2022.

The 31-year-old has three top-10 finishes in 2025, but he’s coming off a missed cut at the PGA Championship, which followed a T-34 showing at the Truist Championship. Spieth’s inconsistent results can be directly attributed to his iron play. He ranks 71st in strokes gained: approach to green (0.160) and 82nd in greens in regulation percentage (66.29%). He also ranks outside the top 50 in driving accuracy (59.80%), birdie average (3.93), strokes gained: putting (0.193) and putts per round (28.55). He’s not a strong pick to win it all, and there are far better values in the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge field. See who else to fade here

Another surprise: Aaron Rai, a 45-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday.

Rai doesn’t explode off the tee quite as much as some of the other top contenders, but he ranks among the best iron players on the PGA Tour. In fact, Rai currently ranks 16th in greens in regulation percentage (69.57%) and 20th in strokes gained: approach to green (0.513). He’s also extremely accurate with a driver in his hands, ranking first in driving accuracy (73.13%). If he’s striking the ball well this week, he’ll have a great shot at finishing on top of the leaderboard at Colonial Country Club. See who else to pick here. Bettors looking to take advantage of a Caesars Sportsbook promo code can get Rai to finish inside the top 10 at +325 odds.

How to make 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge picks

The model is also targeting four other golfers with odds of 45-1 or longer who will make a strong run at the title. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model’s picks here

Five fans found guilty of hate crimes after racist abuse of Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior

Five supporters have been given suspended prison sentences and fined for racist chants directed at Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior during a match against Real Valladolid. The fines handed out by the Provincial Court of Valladolid range between €1,080 (£912; $1,223) and €1,620.In a landmark ruling, the five individuals have been convicted of a hate crime, the first time that racist chanting in a stadium has met this definition in a Spanish court.AdvertisementDuring Madrid’s 2-0 win in December 2022, offensive chanting was directed at the then-22-year-old while an object appeared to be thrown at the Brazilian, who kicked it into the stands.“This judicial decision represents an unprecedented milestone in the fight against racism in sport in Spain, where, until now, rulings had addressed conduct against moral integrity with a racial aggravating factor,” La Liga, who had filed the complaint, said in […]

The Giants won with their young pitching, which bodes well for the future

The Giants used five pitchers to defeat the Royals, 3-2, on Tuesday night. Hayden Birdsong made his first start of the season and threw five innings, allowing an unearned run and zero walks. Randy Rodríguez struck out the side in his inning of work, and Kyle Harrison struck out two of the batters he faced, topping out at 97 MPH.AdvertisementCamilo Doval pitched extremely well in his two-thirds of an inning, throwing a couple of 101-mph fastballs. Ryan Walker got a calm eight-pitch save, which puts him at 22 pitches over his last three innings. All of them combined to strike out 10, allowing just one walk and seven hits. And that’s the story of how the Giants kept an opposing team’s bats quiet on a cold night at Oracle Park. Crystal Palace are FA Cup winners, so will they compete in the Europa League?

The celebrations were in full swing at Crystal Palace.“Have you ever seen Brighton win a cup?” was the fans’ choice of pre-match song. Glad All Over blared over the PA system and, even after the music concluded, its final verses were sung with gusto. Shakira’s Waka Waka song saw its lyrics adapted to end with, “We won the FA Cup,” and boomed out frequently. AdvertisementIt was an emotional but celebratory atmosphere at Selhurst Park before Palace’s final home game of the season with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Thoughts drifted to a European adventure, with Saturday’s historic FA Cup win securing qualification for the Europa League. “We’re all going on a European tour,” sang the fans midway through the first half. They delivered another rendition after going 2-1 up. A final rendition came in stoppage time at the end of their 4-2 win, which ensured […]

We’re still very positive, says bowling coach Munaf Patel as DC eye playoffs spot

Reflecting on the season so far and their upcoming match against MI, Delhi Capitals’ bowling coach Munaf Patel said, “Ofcourse, there’s a bit of pressure as it is a must-win game for us. If we lose this one (against MI), we will be out of the tournament.” “Yes, there were some mistakes and we were not able to capitalise on some occasions. But the atmosphere in the team is very good and we are still very positive. We are just focusing on the next game,” he added.
