K znevýhodnění českého týmu došlo po úspěšné kvalifikaci česko-slovenské posádky Bronislava Formánka a Štefana Rosiny. „Je to věc, která nás hodně překvapila. Takhle krátce před závodem to není standardní a z našeho pohledu to není ani fér,“ komentoval neobvyklé rozhodnutí manažer týmu Jiří Mičánek mladší.
I přes výraznou nevýhodu dosáhla česko-slovenská posádka na jedno vítězství a jedno druhé místo. Navíc si připsala i dva body za nejrychlejší kvalifikace. Díky tomu odjel český tým z druhého podniku aktuální sezony GT2 European Series s největším bodovým přídělem v roli lídra šampionátu.
„Pokud se podívám na výsledek, jsme spokojení. Vezeme 45 bodů a upevnili jsme naši pozici. Broněk se Štofim odvedli skvělou práci stejně jako celý tým.“ hodnotí víkend v Zandvoortu Mičánek. „Pokračujeme v naší práci s cílem získat titul. Zatím jsme na nejlepší cestě.“ S 96 body Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra s přehledem vede v celkovém hodnocení seriálu.
A jak je možné, že ředitelství tak výrazně ovlivnilo závod ještě před jeho začátkem? V rámci GT2 European Series se totiž přistupuje k Balance of Performance (BoP), tedy k vyvážení výkonu. Tento systém slouží k zajištění rovnováhy mezi různými značkami a modely vozů, které se liší konstrukcí, výkonem a aerodynamikou, aby byla zajištěna férová a vyrovnaná soutěž.
„V Broňkově stintu bylo vidět, že změnou BoP byly podmínky nastavené pro naše Lamborghini hodně nevýhodně. Štefan pak předvedl skvělou stíhací jízdu a během svého stintu smazal desetivteřinovou ztrátu,“ popsal Mičánek.
Ve druhém závodu pak Štefan Rosina svůj stint celou dobu vedl, do boxu na střídání pilotů ale zajížděl už jen s minimálním náskokem na další Maserati týmu Dinamic Motorsport. Bronislav Formánek pak většinu stintu odrážel útoky Roberta Pampaniniho, který naplno využíval výhody nižšího BoP.
„Bohužel mě chvíli před koncem zpomalilo auto, které jsme dojížděli o kolo. Nedalo se s tím nic dělat, ztratil jsem trochu rychlost a kvůli tomu se Pampaninimu podařilo dostat přede mě,“ popisoval Formánek. „Náš největší konkurent je teď jednoznačně Maserati a pokud budou pravidla hrát na něho, bude těžké se prosadit, i když jsme rychlí. Můžeme to v tu chvíli kompenzovat jen riskem.“
Odlehčení vozů konkurentů snad ještě víc než Formánka naštvalo Rosinu. „Jsem spokojený s výkonem Broňka i týmu, nejsem spokojený s politikou BoP. Jestli to bude takto pokračovat, budeme vážně zvažovat další účast v šampionátu,“ řekl rezolutně slovenský pilot, který je s Formánkem úřadujícím evropským šampionem série Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe.
„Že jsme nedokázali zopakovat double, nás na jednu stranu může mrzet, ale dává nám to lepší výchozí pozici pro další závod, který se pojede ve Spa,“ připomíná Mičánek pravidlo, které vítěze penalizuje delším pit stopem v následujícím závodu. „Jednoznačně se nyní soustředíme na šampionát a na co nejlepší pozici v boji o titul mistrů Evropy. Důležité pro nás je být konzistentní, dojíždět závody a nejít do nepřiměřeného rizika,“ uzavírá šéf týmu.
