Matt Thomas, Malte Delow, Martin Hermannsson oder Yanni Wetzell sind die Alba-Profis, die einem sofort einfallen, wenn es um Schlüsselspieler für die Basketball-Play-offs geht.
Doch Sportdirektor Himar Ojeda (52) hat vor dem zweiten Viertelfinale am Mittwoch zu Hause gegen Ulm (20 Uhr/ live auf Dyn) noch einen anderen Spieler im Kopf, an den zuletzt kaum einer gedacht hat: Louis Olinde.
„Er ist eine unserer deutschen Stützen, seit wir ihn zurückgeholt haben. Es ging beim ihm stetig bergauf“, sagt Ojeda über den gebürtigen Hamburger, der seit 2020 bei Alba unter Vertrag steht.

Langsam aber stetig steigerte sich Olinde: 6,1 Punkte (2020/21), 7,8 Punkte (21/22), 8,0 Punkte (22/23) und 8,4 Punkte (23/24) seine Ausbeute der letzten Jahre. Doch die bisherige Spielzeit war ein Rückschritt für den hochtalentierten, aber nicht immer konstanten Flügelspieler: 7,3 Punkte sind auch für seine eigenen Ansprüche zu wenig. Und mit mittlerweile 27 Jahren genießt er auch nur noch bedingt Welpenschutz.
[–>„Seine Leistungen gingen stets bergauf. In dieser Saison passierte das nicht“, so Ojeda über Olinde. „Es wäre mein Wunsch, dass Louis zu einem guten Faktor in der gesamten Serie wird. Es wäre wichtig für uns, wichtig für ihn.“

Dass es der 2,05 Meter große Olinde auch gegen Ulm drauf hat, zeigte er beim Hinspiel-Sieg (96:88) im letzten November: Er kam in 28 Minuten auf 12 Punkte, holte sich dazu vier Rebounds.

Spiel eins am Samstag gegen Ulm verpasste er noch mit einem Infekt. In Spiel 2 könnte er wieder auflaufen: „Ich habe alles auskuriert, kann wieder spielen“, so Olinde am Montag.
Mal sehen, welche Rolle Trainer Pedro Calles ihm überträgt. Viel Zeit zum Experimentieren, zum Einspielen hat Alba nicht mehr. Am Mittwoch muss zu Hause gewonnen werden, da eine weitere Niederlage schon fast das Aus bedeuten würde: Ulm hat in der gesamten Saison nur ein einziges Spiel zu Hause verloren.
