Nach der bitteren 0:1-Niederlage gegen Tottenham im Europa-League-Finale in Bilbao steht der Traditionsklub vor einem massiven Umbruch. Kein Spieler ist sicher, selbst Kapitän Bruno Fernandes könnte gehen. Der Grund: Ein finanzielles Loch von 120 Millionen Euro, das durch das Verpassen der Champions League klafft.
Das Desaster in Bilbao hat United die Teilnahme an der europäischen Bühne gekostet – erst zum zweiten Mal in 35 Jahren. Ohne die Einnahmen aus den internationalen Spielen drohen weitere Einschnitte. Der Klub muss Spieler verkaufen, um Geld für Trainer Ruben Amorim zu beschaffen.

Rashford will nach einem Zerwürfnis mit Amorim und dem Klub unbedingt weg und liebäugelt laut „Mirror“ mit einem Wechsel zum FC Barcelona.
