El Valencia y la Fundació VCF anunciaron este lunes la reconstrucción del campo Mundial 82 en Catarroja, dentro de la iniciativa ‘Units com sempre‘, para recuperar infraestructuras deportivas en las localidades afectadas por la DANA. Este proyecto se suma a la rehabilitación de los campos Jaume Ortí, de Aldaia y el polideportivo de Sedaví.
El Valencia cubrirá parte del importe correspondiente a la rehabilitación de este recinto deportivo con la recaudación del partido contra el Betis -que fue duplicada con una aportación directa del principal accionista, Peter Lim– además de la Fila Cero Solidaria aportada de forma anónima por aficionados o no del Valencia. El club blanquinegro ha anunciado en un comunicado oficial que, además de la compañía Divina Seguros, también han colaborado LALIGA, a través de EA Sports.
Javier Solís, director general del Valencia, destacó los lazos entre el club blanquinegro y Catarroja, que cuenta con una escuela conveniada, además de la figura de Ricardo Arias, exjugador y embajador del Valencia, nacido en la localidad. “Cuando ocurrió la tragedia, el club tuvo claro que debía apoyar a las localidades más afectadas“, indicó Solís.
El presidente del Catarroja, Óscar Banacloy, relató que el equipo ha estado entrenando en diferentes instalaciones durante cinco meses y que la recuperación del estadio permitirá retomar la normalidad. “Llevamos todo ese tiempo sintiéndonos nómadas del fútbol, jugando en distintas instalaciones y nunca jugando como local. Es muy importante la firma de este acuerdo con el Valencia CF y la Fundació VCF porque es recuperar el estadio del pueblo y tener una identidad en nuestra población”.
