V první půli jste spíše vyčkávali. Byl to záměr?
Nechtěli jsme hru příliš otevírat. Cílem bylo vyčkávat na chyby soupeře a případně udeřit z brejku. Pardubice měly dvě břevna, ale obě situace přišly ze standardek, jinak si nic nevytvořily. My jsme ale ztráceli dost míčů. Do druhé půle jsme šli s jasným plánem: být odvážnější, což se nám dařilo. Pomohla i červená karta pro Filipa Šancla. Od té chvíle to bylo o nás. Dali jsme gól a hráli opravdu dobře. Byli jsme aktivní, bylo nás plné hřiště. Ale jedna branka byla málo. To vítězství má trochu hořkou pachuť.
Co jste říkal na facku, kterou Šancl uštědřil vašemu brankáři?
Podobné věci jsem už zažil. Ale v divizi. Ne na takové úrovni. To byla naprostá nedisciplinovanost. Pokud hráč nezvládá emoce, nemá na hřišti co dělat. V takhle důležitém utkání se prostě nemůžete nechat takhle hloupě vyloučit. Na druhou stranu – to nebyl můj problém.
Po prvním zápase jste říkal, že baráž ještě otočíte. Mnozí vám nevěřili. Zavřeli jste teď alespoň částečně ústa pochybovačům?
Myslím, že ano. Pardubice se o výsledek klepaly až do poslední vteřiny. A podle mě mohlo být nastaveno i víc než šest minut. Ale už po prvním utkání jsem věděl, co mám za tým. Nemáme nejlepší mužstvo ani ve druhé lize, ale charakterově je ten tým výjimečný. Věřil jsem mu a všichni jsme si společně šli za snem.
Co byste řekl člověku, který by vám před sezonou tvrdil, že budete hrát o ligu?
(úsměv) Že patří do blázince. Na začátku jsme měli úplně jiné cíle. Ale od nějakého desátého kola jsme baráž začali brát jako reálný cíl. Chtěli jsme vyprodat stadion, vyhrát domácí zápas. Věřil jsem tomu, protože máme tým plný bojovníků.
Je tahle sezona pro Chrudim historická?
Jednoznačně. Všichni to cítíme. Jsem na tým hrdý a moc si toho vážím. I když teď převládá smutek. Posunuli jsme ale spoustu hráčů. Třeba Daniel Doleček, který Pardubicím vstřelil dvě branky, i když ta druhá nebyla uznána, ještě loni hrál divizi v Chomutově. Davida Látala jsme prodali do Baníku. A řada mladých hráčů se pevně zabydlela v kádru. Celkově je to pro nás velký úspěch.

Takovou sezonu bude těžké překonat, co říkáte?
Malý je ten, kdo má malé cíle. Ale je pravda, že když se podíváte, kolik je ve druhé lize vlčáků s velkými rozpočty, bude to hodně těžké. Potvrdit takový úspěch – to je teprve známka kvality.
Zmínil jste Daniela Dolečka. Jeho druhý gól odvolal VAR. Tušil jste ofsajd?
Vůbec. Normálně jsem se radoval, ani mě nenapadlo, že by to mohl být ofsajd. Až pomezní mi říkal, že to video zkoumá. Bohužel, takový je fotbal. Měli jsme i další šance. Gól jsme zkrátka měli dát.
Nepřišlo vám, že váš výkon po odvolané brance trochu spadl?
Nemyslím si, ale musím si to ještě pořádně zanalyzovat. Klíčový moment podle mě přišel spíš po srážce pardubického hráče s naším brankářem. Následovalo dlouhé ošetřování a pauza. To nás vyhodilo z rytmu, soupeř si trochu odpočinul a my jsme pak hráli zbrkle. Navíc se začala projevovat i únava. Škoda…
