Notre Dame star guard Olivia Miles, a projected lottery pick, is entering the transfer portal and will forgo the 2025 WNBA Draft, a source with knowledge of Miles’ decision confirmed Monday.
In Notre Dame’s loss to TCU in the Sweet 16 on Saturday, Miles hinted she could return to college hoops next season. She has one year of eligibility remaining.

“I am still thinking about what I want to do, but leaning towards the draft,” Miles said postgame. “But tomorrow, I might wake up and be like, ‘I want to come back.’ So, it just changes every day. I love college. I think I’ve outgrown it a little bit, though, so that makes my decision tougher to stay. It’s comfortable, a place where you have security.”
The senior averaged a career-best and team second-best 15.4 points this season, behind Hannah Hidalgo. Her 5.8 assists per game were a team-high.
In a survey of WNBA general managers who were granted anonymity to share their candid opinions about the upcoming draft class with The Athletic before the NCAA Tournament began, one GM called Miles, “The second safest pick after Paige (Bueckers).”
“Big fan, especially if the shooting can continue to be where it’s at,” another GM said. “I love the wiggle she has in her game. She’s got great feel, she’s got great change of pace. I love the combination of dribble, pass, shoot. I love her size at point guard. I think she can also probably play on and off the ball.”
