McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Wednesday, April 2
One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Wednesday is Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki at $5,000 on DraftKings and $3,300 on FanDuel for MLB DFS lineups. After emerging as a superstar in Japan, Suzuki made the jump to the MLB in 2022 when he signed a five-year, $85 million contract with the Cubs and he’s become a franchise cornerstone in the three years since.
Suzuki has an .822 OPS during his time in Chicago and he’s coming off his best statistical season after finishing with 21 home runs, 73 RBI and 16 stolen bases while slashing .283/.366/.482 in 2024. He’s only hitting .229 so far this season and does have a National League-leading 16 strikeouts, but he’s also homered twice while driving in six in eight games. The Athletics will send lefty Jeffrey Springs to the mound on Wednesday and Suzuki has an .850 OPS against left-handers in his career.
McClure is also rostering Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. ($6,000 on DraftKings and $4,200 on FanDuel). The former consensus top prospect in baseball has very quickly lived up to the hype, winning a batting title and finishing with 32 home runs, 109 RBI and 31 stolen bases to finish as runner-up in AL MVP voting in 2024 as 24-year-old.
Witt is 6-for-21 to start the season with two doubles, three RBI and three stolen bases in five games. He’s on an eight-game hitting streak dating back to last year and he had a 1.012 OPS against right-handed pitching in 2024.
