Rafael Louzán recupera el sitio del fútbol español en el siempre complicado mundo de la diplomacia deportiva, perdido tras lo sucedido alrededor de Luis Rubiales.
El presidente de la Federación es nuevo miembro del Comité Ejecutivo de la UEFA y pasa a ser uno de los hombres fuertes de Aleksander Ceferin. Cinco eran los aspirantes a las dos plazas y Louzán ha salido elegido junto a Zoares, de Israel.
De esta manera, el fútbol español vuelve a tener presencia en los órganos de decisión del fútbol europeo, circunstancia que siempre puede servir de puente en determinados momentos para los equipos y la propia selección. Miguel Ángel Gil Marín también está presente en el Comité Ejecutivo de la UEFA, pero en su caso representando a la ECA junto a Al Khelaifi.
Además de Rubiales, Ángel María Villar y Javier Tebas (representando a la las Ligas) han pertenecido al Ejecutivo de la UEFA en las últimas décadas. Ahora, el fútbol español ha recibido un impulso importante, que demuestra que pesa más lo hecho por el deporte en el verde, que por anteriores dirigentes en los despachos y que han puesto en duda el valor de la Federación.
Ahora Louzán tiene dos años de mandato en la UEFA y tres al frente de la Ciudad del Fútbol, para que la Federación recupere el terreno perdido en los últimos 20 meses.
