Yuki Tsunoda es el piloto que se está robando todos los reflectores en el Gran Premio de Japón. Además de estas compitiendo en su carrera natal, el piloto nipón se encuentra haciendo su debut como nuevo piloto del equipo Red Bull Racing. El ’22‘ de la actual parrilla de pilotos fue ascendido al primer equipo tras las dos primeros Grandes Premios de la temporada 2025 de la F1, por los malos resultados obtenidos por Liam Lawson, ahora en Racing Bulls.
De esta manera, el competidor asiático no pudo mantener el ritmo mostrado en las primeras sesiones de prácticas libres del fin de semana, en las que mantuvo unos cronos cercanos a los registrados por Max Verstappen. A diferencia del tetracampeón del mundo, quien saldrá desde la pole, el piloto japonés no pudo avanzar de la Q2 y partirá desde la 14º plaza.

Al término de la ronda de clasificación, Yuki se mostró crítico con su rendimiento. “La Q1 estuvo bien. Creo que perdí mi oportunidad, no lo sé. La ventana operativa de este coche es muy estrecha y muchas cosas tienen que ser casi perfectas, como el calentamiento. En el segundo intento de la Q2, no calenté los neumáticos tanto como la vez anterior. Eso supuso una gran diferencia. Es algo que aprendí en la Q2, pero era demasiado tarde. Es una pena que no lo hiciera cuando más importaba”, lamentó el piloto local.

A pesar del resultado, Tsunoda indica que ya se siente cómodo con el monoplaza de la escudería con sede en Milton Keynes, algo que es crucial para el desarrollo de la temporada. “Es lo mismo para todos, no creo que sea tan complicado, es sólo que… creo que fue el calentamiento, no lo sé. También había rachas muy fuertes en la curva 2, que crearon momentos muy complicados e inesperados. Al menos tuve un buen ritmo en la Q1 y me siento confiado con el coche“.

Ahora, el piloto local deberá remontar varias posiciones en la parrilla si quiere empezar a sumar puntos en el Mundial. Con la lección de los neumáticos aprendida, el japonés sostuvo que hubiese entrado a la Q3 si hubiese tenido otra oportunidad. “Si hubiera tenido una vuelta más, el resultado habría sido diferente, pero las cosas son como son. No siempre van a salir bien”.
