Noví trenéři Tomáš Hlavatý a Daniel Čurda se pro kvalifikaci kvůli absencím na střední spojce rozhodli povolat i zkušené házenkářky Ivetu Korešovou s Hanou Kvášovou, které se vrátily do reprezentace po třech letech a hned byly nejlepšími českými střelkyněmi.
Házenkářky tak mají solidně nakročeno k tomu, aby se na přelomu listopadu a prosince představily na MS v Německu a Nizozemsku, kde by obhajovaly osmou příčku. „Zápas nám vyšel, máme velký náskok. Ale je trochu nebezpečné, že se můžeme uvolnit,“ upozorňoval kouč Hlavatý.
Národní tým však věří, že na žádné drama už nedojde a v klidu si dokráčí pro zasloužený postup. „Chceme navázat na dobrý výkon. Potřebujeme se soustředit hlavně sami na sebe,“ prohlásil slovenský trenér českého výběru.
