Texas wide receiver and NFL Draft prospect Isaiah Bond has filed a federal complaint against a woman who accused him of sexual assault, according to a filing in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas obtained by The Athletic.
The lawsuit comes less than a week after Bond turned himself in to Frisco, Texas, police for a matter relating to a sexual assault warrant. He was able to post bond and was released from custody.

Bond’s federal complaint against Jane Roe (a pseudonym used in the filing for the defendant) is for defamation per se, false light, tortious interference with prospective business advantage and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Bond is seeking an injunction to stop the defendant from “referring to him as a sex criminal” as well as monetary and punitive damages.
The filing states Jane Roe’s allegations are false and have “caused reputational damage, in that her statements have lowered the plaintiff’s reputation in the minds of his professional community and the public at large, and have deterred third parties, including NFL scouts, from associating with him.”
Bond’s filing says that he was “relentlessly pursued and preyed upon for months” by the defendant, a woman he met on Instagram. The filing says the two had a consensual sexual encounter on Feb. 4 at Bond’s apartment and that some time later the plaintiff told Bond that he “better be careful not to catch a case.” Afterward, the plaintiff allegedly demanded $5,000 from Bond before going to the police with her allegations.
In a statement posted on social media following his release, Bond said: “Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false. I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation. Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review. I kindly request that all reserve judgment until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence.”
Bond had a third-round draft grade and ranked as the No. 10 wide receiver and No. 88 overall prospect in “The Beast,” The Athletic’s NFL Draft guide. After two seasons at Alabama, Bond transferred to Texas, where he mainly served as an outside receiver in the Longhorns’ offense, clocking a 4.37 40-yard dash on his pro day. In 14 games in 2024, he caught 34 passes for 540 yards and five touchdowns with an average of 15.9 yards per catch.
