Jake Ferguson of the Cowboys and Haley Cavinder get engaged; he gives her a very expensive ring

Haley Cavinder and Jake Ferguson, the tight end for the Dallas Cowboys, have decided to take their relationship to the next level and are now engaged. The former college star announced the news to the world on Instagram with some spectacular photos of a dream proposal by the ocean, complete with white flowers and a sparkling rock on her left hand.

Since confirming their relationship in 2023, Haley Cavinder has been seen supporting Jake Ferguson on the sidelines for the Cowboys. At 26, Ferguson is coming off a tough season without a playoff appearance, but he remains a key part of the Dallas offense. His four-year, $4.3 million contract, signed through 2022, keeps him locked in for the long haul.

Video of Patrick Mahomes getting protective and a little jealous over Brittany Mahomes goes viral

Haley finished his fifth and final year at the University of Miami with impressive numbers of 18.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. For his part, Jake Ferguson, who started 14 games for the Cowboys in 2024, had 59 receptions and 494 yards, although he failed to score all season. Not bad for either of them.

Being apart was never a problem for them, as they handled it in the best possible way, to the point where they have now decided to get engaged.

Good news for the family

This is great news for the Cavinder family. A video Haley shared on social media sparked rumors of a possible breakup between her twin sister Hanna and Carson Beck after Hanna unfollowed Beck on Instagram.

Beck, a former Georgia quarterback, moved to Miami, presumably to be closer to Hanna, signed a lucrative NFL contract and decided not to enter the NFL draft. Carson was ridiculed for his decision, and things turned out badly for him.

All of this comes at a sensitive time for the Cavinder sisters, just before Ferguson‘s proposal to Haley, which could mean relief for the family.

“It is not my place to tell that story. But yeah, I know there’s a lot of speculation and I see someone in my life that’s hurting and I don’t think it’s right that I can’t keep my mouth shut. So, Haley, a little honesty here. And yes, I’m trying to be as kind as I can,” Hailey said in a video she posted on TikTok, without giving too many details, but many got the idea.

Why Saints broke QB draft drought to select little-known passer Tyler Shough

Greg Auman NFL Reporter <!--> The Saints' new quarterback is, relatively speaking, an old quarterback.New Orleans used its second-round draft pick on Louisville's Tyler Shough, whose draft stock rose after seven years of college football, going 40th overall for the Saints' highest draft pick used on a quarterback since Archie Manning in 1971.With the future of veteran Derek Carr unsure at best due to a shoulder injury, the 25-year-old Shough could be their starting quarterback, going higher in the draft than third-year pro Jake Haener or second-year passer Spencer Rattler. 2025 NFL Draft: Tyler Shough’s dog steals show after New Orleans Saints draft him in second round

NFL Coming into the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday, the biggest talking point was what quarterbacks would go where, this after Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart were the only two signal-callers selected and Shedeur Sanders slid out of the first round Thursday night. The Browns, Raiders and Saints figured to be the most likely landing spots for a quarterback at the top of the second round, but there was some scuttle that Sanders wouldn't even be the third quarterback taken. That buzz ended up being correct as the New Orleans Saints used the 40th overall pick to select Tyler Shough out of Louisville (with stops at Oregon and Texas Tech before that). Shough wasn't particularly high on draft boards exiting the season, but the 25-year-old was a riser throughout the process and ended up as the third quarterback taken. When […]
