Los Dallas Cowboys podrían tener dos ausencias muy importantes en la defensa cuando comience la temporada.
Y es que, Stephen Jones, vicepresidente ejecutivo del equipo, ratificó que no hay fechas concretas para la recuperación de los apoyadores DeMarvion Overshown y el esquinero Trevon Diggs.
“No sabemos cuándo recuperaremos a estos jugadores”, expresó Jones el lunes en una conferencia de prensa.
“Tienen lesiones importantes. Es muy probable que no sean titulares cuando comience la temporada“, reiteró Jones.
Essentialy Sports indica que, aunque, DeMarvion Overshown, ha logrado un gran avance al caminar sin muletas tres meses después de la cirugía, aún es incierta la disponibilidad que tendrá.
En 2024 tuvo una destacada actuación con 90 tacleadas y 5 capturas, aunque la rotura de ligamentos en diciembre le dejó la rodilla en muy mal estado. “Mi muleta no está en modo deportivo”, dijo en enero en tono de broma para el sitio oficial de los Cowboys.
Por su parte, la rehabilitación de Trevon Diggs sigue en curso, luego de dos lesiones de rodilla consecutivas que echaron para abajo sus temporadas 2023 y 2024, el esquinero All-Pro se encuentra en Florida con el Dr. Sharif Tabbah, quien no se aventuró a dar fechas de regreso al juego.
“Creo que es demasiado pronto para hablar de eso [fechas de regreso]”, dijo el doctor. “Tenemos que superar muchas debilidades y cosas así por la inactividad”, añadió.
Digss está recuperando estabilidad y además, tiene cerca a su hermano Stefon, quien también se recupera de una lesión. Ambos se motivan mutuamente y están al pendiente de los progresos del otro.
Es así como la defensa de los Cowboys podría empezar mermada la temporada, pues a Dak Prescott le harán falta sus compañeros para dar ese empuje extra.
