Diego Souza vê Wesley sendo capaz de superar a “prova de fogo” no primeiro jogo como titular da seleção. Embora o desafio de atuar em Argentina x Brasil não seja fácil, o ex-atacante da seleção confia no potencial do lateral-direito. Isso porque, levando em conta a evolução ao lado de Filipe Luís no Flamengo, existe um otimismo de que o jovem possa cumprir, de forma satisfatória, todas as exigências do setor.
“Esquece, o time do Brasil é muito bom! O moleque que entrou, Wesley, está com o timing de quando tem que passar, quando tem que marcar e quando tem que jogar.”, disse Diego Souza, em vídeo da Central do Pré-Jogo, no YouTube.
“Essa confiança é o mais importante para um jogador de futebol. Ele tá bem. Está jogando com jogadores de qualidade e que chegaram muito longe. O treinador jogou em alto nível na Europa. É interessante esse moleque ter uma prova de fogo dessa.”, acrescentou.
Diego Souza confia em vitória do Brasil
Apesar do confronto na Argentina, Diego Souza aposta no triunfo da seleção brasileira. Porém, para conquista dos três pontos, houve uma exigência de entrega máxima, já que somente a qualidade técnica não é suficiente no clássico pelas Eliminatórias.
“O time do Brasil é competitivo e tem muita qualidade. Se jogar com o coração, a gente tem muito mais chances que os caras. Os caras jogam com o coração o tempo inteiro e estão na nossa frente. A gente não pode entrar moroso, tem que entrar firme. Acho que o Brasil ganha de 2 a 0, tranquilo. Vai ser um jogão.”, opinou.
Injustiça cometida na seleção?
Ao lado de Maicon na sessão de palpites, Diego Souza aproveitou para ressaltar uma injustiça cometida na seleção. Mesmo que o nível dos concorrentes sempre tinha sido elevado, o ex-jogador não tem dúvidas da injustiça atrelada ao antigo capitão do Grêmio.
“Não teve (oportunidade) porque, infelizmente, as coisas não andam da maneira que tem que andar, mas merecia e muito! Pegamos uma época muito difícil. Eu tive a felicidade de vestir (camisa do Brasil) e gostaria de ter jogado uma Copa do Mundo, mas só de ter participado já vale. Ele não teve oportunidade, mas merecia. Além de profissional, jogava pra c…!”, externou.
